The post holder will work on application of single cell Raman technology for studying microbial and mammalian cell phenotype and genotype, identification of gene function via molecular biology, cell biology and bioinformatics analysis approaches. Besides, the post holder will participate in the institute's microbial literacy popularization projects and collaborate to advance these projects. The post holder will report to Prof. Wei Huang of the Dept. of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford.
The successful candidate will possess a doctoral degree (or be near completion) in a relevant field with experience in one or more of the following areas: microbial cell cultivation, molecular biology, single cell technology, bioinformatics and animal test. Knowledge of Raman detection and/or experience in participating or organizing scientific competition is desirable.

Responsibilities:
1.Be proficient in using the single cell Raman platform and Nanopore sequencing.
2. Carry out microbiology, molecular biology, cell biology research, including gene manipulations, molecular cloning, and analysis of cell physiology.
3.Assess safety using animal experimental models.
4.Promote the translation and external collaboration of microbial literacy popularization projects.
5. Collaborate in the preparation of scientific reports and journal articles. Present papers at national conferences, and lead seminars to disseminate research findings.
6.Use scientific equipment in a laboratory environment.
7.Support the project team in integrating activities across the partner organizations, including liaison between research teams and carry out administrative roles as required.
8.Contribute to the day-to-day running of an experimental laboratory.
9.Undertake other duties to be assigned by the project team, as required.
