You will be responsible of a development department of the Business Unit in China (Suzhou) as a part of the global research and development team of the business unit Multisensoric CMMs. You lead about 3-4 teams and approx. 25 employees with an aspiration to grow to 50 employees. The competences of the teams are mechanical engineering (CAD design), electrical engineering, mechatronics and optics. You report to the global head of the system development, together with the other development managers, form the extended management team of the business unit.
As a professional, you will coordinate and manage development activities in close cooperation with Head of Global System Development and ensure that they are implemented on time, on budget, in production and in accordance with quality.With your high level of organizational competence, you plan the resources in your area, ensure permanent skill and team development and a targeted development of competencies.
Main Tasks: · Technical and disciplinary management of the System Development Department. · Responsible for product integrity and interpretation with respect to mechanical design, manufacturing, quality, and cost. · Ensure the confidentiality of technical data of R&D projects. · Ability to provide technical supervision of projects,focusing on global cross-functional collaboration (Germany & Poland) toadvance holistic team performance in Greater China. · Responsibility RnD budget of approx. 2-3 mEUR. · Global responsibility for the implementation of the divisional R&Dstrategy in China. · Close collaboration with internationally distributed R&D-sites for co-development activities. · Validation and introduction of new developments, product improvements an functions, as well as support of pilot customers during CMM Development process. · Strategic interface to IQS Factory China (Shanghai & Suzhou). · Actively support the interface to purchasing and the logistics areas in the selection and qualification of suppliers/materials and ensuring the ability to deliver and, if necessary, release suppliers/materials technologically. · Leading, motivating, assessing, and developing subordinate employees in accordance with the company's management principles. Ensuring the required employee qualification. Proposing salary adjustments andparticipating in decisions about individual personnel measures (in coordination with the HR department). Implementation of measures for the efficient design of the structure and process organization in the own responsibility area.
Requirements: · Master’s degree or above in science, technology, or engineering (preferably with a doctorate). · Minimum 5 years of professional experience in heading a R&D team. · Minimum 5 years of professional experience in leadership and/or delivery of innovation projects. · Management experience in product development with strong mechanical and/or electrical background. · Preference for micromechanics and/or optics as well as a feel for current market developments in the field of electronics and transmission technology.
