Responsibilities: Collect and analyze data on the company’s operational costs, such as raw materials, labor, overhead, shipping, etc. Set standard costs for the company’s products and processes based on market research and historical data Develop and analyze cost standards and perform cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis Perform monthly closing activities, such as account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis Prepare and report on manufacturing variances, such as material usage variance, labor efficiency variance, fixed overhead variance, etc. Maintain standard costs in the accounting system and update them periodically Work with the inventory analyst to ensure accurate and timely inventory transactions and valuations Prepare audit reports and present findings and recommendations to management Suggest changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit Advise executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data Support other company accountants with invoicing and capital expenditure Cost Accountant Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance Three years of experience as a cost accountant or analyst in a manufacturing environment Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel Familiarity with the food industry and its regulations Knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices
