The Job
As a Purchasing Agent, you’ll be part of our Strategic Sourcing and Procurement team located in Suzhou. You’ll get to:
61 Maintain close relationships with suppliers within assigned commodities and takes proactive approach in interfacing with them to resolve issues that may arise.
61 Execute all purchasing related activities of product development as assigned within the specified commodities.
61 Act as a liaison between suppliers and plants in conjunction with the efforts of the Value Stream Management group.
61 *** point of escalation from SBD plants for all supplier related shortages
61 Identify any gaps within the existing supply base relative to future product development. Communicate the need to the Regional Procurement Manager so that development work can be completed in time to support projects.
61 Bring approved suppliers into development projects to support new product development.
61 Maintain close relationships with suppliers and take a proactive approach in interfacing with them to resolve issues.
61 Monitors price changes and takes appropriate steps for approval of changes. Implements and manages the change.
61 Support cross-functional team initiatives around total cost improvements and supply vulnerability reductions.
61 Perform all purchasing activities in accordance with current company policies and procedures.

61 Bachelor's degree in business/related field or equivalent experience
61 3-5 years professional Purchasing experience. Specific commodity experience is preferred including steel, stampings, plastic resins and/or injection molding, powdered metal, hardware, and packaging.
61 Proficiency with MS Office with emphasis on Word, Excel, and Outlook.
61 ERP/MRP experience
61 Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
61 Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
61 High degree of creativity, flexibility, and resourcefulness to provide win-win resolutions.
61 Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision and effectively in a team environment.
