Primary (Simulation): a) Perform Structural, Fluid Flow, Heat Transfer and Magnetic Analysis on various products and new designs using Ansys on time. b) Work with design engineers to identify/ develop/ apply load cases and boundary conditions on various analysis models. c) Interpret results and create reports of various analyses. d) Forecast the potential design failure modes based on FEA/CFD results and propose design improvements and solutions. e) Identify areas of stress concentration/ flow turbulence based on FEA results and propose design ideas and concepts to improve such irregularities. f) Identify areas of over-design and propose design ideas and concepts to reduce product cost.
Additional (Design): g) Propose design ideas and create design concepts leading to final finished designs of various products and fixtures. h) Perform basic hand calculations to determine essential design features of various product designs. i) Basic useage of design software such as autodesk inventor j) Take part in and contribute to DFMEA, Design Review, ECN review meetings etc. k) Take part in global autodesk key user group to feedback and coordinate recent key issues
Qualifications:
Essential: Bachelor of Technology (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering/ Automobile Engineering/ Aerospace Engineering or similar fields.
Desirable: Master of Technology in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Automobile Engineering/ Aerospace Engineering or similar fields. Candidates holding Dual Degree (5-year M. Tech. program) qualification are also eligible.
Domain Experience: 5 – 7 years hands-on analysis experience in Structural Simulation with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Flow simulation with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) using Ansys.
Desired competencies: Technical Skills: a) Sound understanding of FEM/FVM. b) Good command on fundamental engineering principles including structural, pneumatics, statics, dynamics, fluid mechanics, basic electronics, thermo dynamics, and material properties. c) Hands-on experience on performing Structural Analysis, Fluid Flow analysis, Heat Transfer Analysis and Magnetic Field Analysis using Ansys. d) Sound understanding of the reasons and effects of various types of meshing elements used in FEM/CFD/FVM. e) Sound understanding of specifying boundary conditions and defining load cases. f) Ability to interpret FEA/CFD results effectively. g) Ability to correlate FEA results and Test results of various products. h) Ability to create concepts from scratch using 2-D sketches and develop the concepts into detailed design solutions using 3-D CAD. i) Sound understanding of various design principles such as DFM, DFA, DFR etc. j) Hands-on experience on design toolds such as GD&T, Tolerance Analsyses, DFMEA, Pugh-matrix, Fish-Bone, HOQ etc. k) Sound understanding of behaviour of materials under static, cyclic, impact loads. l) Sound understnding of various manufacturing methods including machining, casting, molding, press-working, punching, heat-treatment etc. m) Hands-on experience on development of fluid power components (valve, acutators, pumps etc) used in Automobile sector.
