About PQC-X Lab
The Post-Quantum Migration Interdisciplinary Lab (PQC-X) at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) is a premier research center spearheaded by Prof. Jintai Ding, a global leader in post-quantum cryptography. With initial funding of CNY 22 million, PQC-X aims to become a world-class lab driving post-quantum migration technologies, industrial collaboration, and high-level talent development.
PQC-X maintains robust partnerships with elite institutions and financial organizations including the University of Tokyo, the Financial Research Institute of the People’s Bank of China, and China Construction Bank.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Business Development Specialist to strengthen PQC-X’s engagement with industry, academia, and government stakeholders. This role plays a strategic function in building and managing partnerships, identifying commercialization opportunities, and facilitating external funding or collaboration for PQC-X projects.
Key Responsibilities
● Develop and implement strategies to build partnerships with enterprises, research institutions, government agencies, and financial institutions relevant to post-quantum cryptography and migration. ● Identify opportunities for commercialization and technology transfer of lab-developed innovations. ● Drive industry collaboration projects and maintain regular communication with stakeholders. ● Coordinate with faculty and researchers to align business development efforts with the lab’s scientific strengths and research pipeline. ● Support grant and funding applications by providing market research, impact cases, and partner endorsements. ● Represent PQC-X at key industry and academic events, conferences, and exhibitions. ● Contribute to PQC-X's branding and external visibility through thought leadership, strategic storytelling, and PR engagement.
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline; MBA is a plus. ● 5+ years of experience in business development, tech transfer, or industry-academic collaboration—ideally in tech, R&D, or scientific innovation sectors. ● Demonstrated success in building B2B partnerships, especially with financial institutions, tech firms, or research entities. ● Strong knowledge or interest in cybersecurity, cryptography, or quantum computing is preferred. ● Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills. ● Proactive, result-oriented, and able to thrive in a multicultural and interdisciplinary research environment. ● Fluent in English; Chinese proficiency is a plus.
