Responsibilities: As a business development manager, you'll need to: ? Push new and emerging development in existing business segments in terms of sales. ? Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets. ? Bring new features to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs, and push the product lifecycle from strategic planning to tactical activities. ? Inform the customer account strategies by researching existing market drivers, business strategic priorities, internal investment areas and key stakeholders. ? Carry out sales forecasts and analysis, keep abreast of trends and changes in the business world and present your findings to senior management. ? Advise on the compilation of target market penetration strategies and estimate the size of the opportunity in the short, medium, and long term. ? Seek out the appropriate contacts in an organization and draw up clients’ contracts. ? Generate leads, cold call prospective customers and create sales pipeline. ? Meet with customers/clients face to face or over the phone. ? Foster and develop relationships with customers/clients. ? Negotiate pricing with customers. ? Good understanding of our business, products or services and be able to advise to the customers. ? Understand the customers’ needs and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these. ? Attend seminars, conferences and events where appropriate, and help to plan sales campaigns. ? Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business. ? Work strategically - carrying out necessary planning in order to implement.
Working hours: You'll usually work Monday to Friday week, though you may on occasion have to work longer to meet a project deadline or when attending an event or conference. Flexible working and working from home may be possible.
What to expect ? You'll work in an office environment but will frequently travel within the day for face-to-face meetings with customers and other business partners. ? It can be challenging trying to create new business opportunities, in addition to the constant pressure of meeting or exceeding targets. ? Overnight or overseas travel may be required.
Qualifications: You'll need to have: ? Ability to work in a high performing, experienced interconnection team. ? Experience in developing, maintaining, and strengthening business relationships. ? Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities concurrently. ? Able to function in complex and challenging customer environments, and able to influence change and negotiate mutually beneficial solutions and understandings. ? Solution design with the ability to clearly articulate topics. ? Tenacity and drive to seek new business and meet or exceed targets ? Excellent telephone manner for making initial contacts and ongoing communication with customers and business associates. ? Interpersonal skills for building and developing relationships with clients. ? Written and verbal communication skills - needed for communicating with a range of people, both internally and externally, as well as presentation skills. ? IT skills, including the use of spreadsheets. ? Teamworking skills and a collaborative approach to work. ? The ability to multitask and prioritize your workload. ? The ability to motivate yourself and set your own goals. ? The ability to think strategically. ? The ability to analyze sales figures and write reports. ? The ability to speak a foreign language is an asset if you're dealing with overseas clients.
