As a Product Development Expert at PPG Refinish Coatings, you will work in lab to execute projects and develop innovative and profitable coating products, you will not only engage hands-on at the bench but also lead high-level projects, training, and daily team activities. You will play an important role in the professional development of lab expertise through your commitment to scientific exploration and team success.

Key Responsibilities

Test and Develop coating formulations to meet market and customer needs, and/or improve the efficiency of existing products or processes.
Develop and foster a talented lab team with combined depth and breadth of technologies.
Collaborate with product/segment management to outline project scope with coating specifications, technical deliverables, and timelines.
Track NPD projects and support NPD portfolio management.
Advise on issues/upgrades to formulation guidelines.
Create formulation guidelines for new product platforms being launched.
Provide technical training to new product launch team including technical support experts, process engineers and customers etc.
Stay current with industry trends and regulations to ensure our products maintain their leadership position and compliance.
Ensure lab activities compliant with local, national, and internal EHS regulations.

Qualifications

A B.S. / M.S. in chemistry, chemical engineering, or material science with more than 5 years of coating technologies and/or product development working experience.
Pass CET-4, competent in written and spoken English.
Experience with experimental design (DOE); MSE; DFEMA, and complex problem solving are required.
Experience with industrial manufacturing, Quality System, OEM approvals are desirable.
Experience in Light Industry Coating like Wind blade, machinery, auto parts or adhesive industry.
