POSITION SUMMARY: The Lab Technician focuses on specific product lines and accepted test methods. Responsible for standard project assignments working directly with engineers and Lab Manager. Serves as a technical resource for Associate Lab Technicians in the resolution of common problems. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: - Designs fixtures to be used in accepted testing. 10% - Mentors Associate Lab Technicians in regards to standardized lab methods and industry standards as it pertains to product development. 10% - Mentors Associate Lab Technicians in regards to standardized lab methods and industry standards as it pertains to product development. 10% - Utilizes automation to collect the data necessary to populate formalized test reports. Supports and improves existing test platforms including full integration of measurement tools with various lab equipment. 10% - Coordinates test requirements and utilizes appropriate test methods and capabilities. Conducts system test preparations by coordinating fabrications, modifications, and setups. 15% - Conducts tests, analyzes data, and documents results with little supervision of Senior Lab Technician or Lab Manager. Participates in test data reviews. 15% - Expertise in operation of fiber equipment and specific mechanical and environmental equipment. Mostly work on fiber cable performance test, fiber connectivities performance test and failure root cause analysis. 20% - Other work per Manager’s request. 10%
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Required Degree: Bachelors Degree or above Years of Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience Other Requirements: Proficient in English, able to independently communicate laboratory architecture and testing processes with foreign laboratories.
