As a LiDAR Engineer, you will work with the system team to gather requirements, understand the market outlook and the latest technologies in the market, and develop Lidar products and system solutions based on actual needs to drive Caterpillar's driverless process in China.
JOB DUTIES Engineers may work in any number of functional areas requiring an engineering degree, including, but not limited to, product design, application and installation, development, research, reliability, product performance/support and service.
The key role of this engineering position is to 1. Be responsible for the full life cycle development and maintenance of mass production -data logger, camera, millimeter wave radar and other automated driving component from concept to mass production. 2. Responsible for collecting requirements, pre-research and validation, component selection, technical solution evaluation, supplier communication, upstream and downstream market research, analysis of laws and regulations, and acceptance standards. 3. Responsible for the performance and reliability evaluation of data logger and camera: analyze the functional scenarios, formulate test cases, design test experiments, build test environments and compare different candidate solutions horizontally. 4. Responsible for reviewing technical documents and user manuals for hardware design and development. 5. Maintain the product line, including not limited to call back failure parts, analysis and tracking of quality issues, management of legacy and potential obsolete parts, quality data analysis, supply chain assurance, and deployment of new applications. Requirement
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree or above, majoring in computer, communication, electronic information, electromechanics, automation and other related majors; 2. Understand the underlying working principle, communication interface, key performance index and process of at least one kind of autonomous driving parts (domain controller, LIDAR, millimeter wave radar, camera, GNSS/IMU combined navigation); 3. Understanding of product quality control methods, with failure and failure analysis capabilities; 4. Familiar with NPI, APQP process; 5. Good cross-team engineering communication, verbal and written communication skills; 6. English CET-4 or above, excellent English communication and presentation skills; 7. Good ability to write documents independently.
