Caterpillar Large Power System Division is looking for Senior Design Engineers to accelerate the development of Advanced Power Products Battery Thermal Management Systems (BTMS). This position will be accountable to support the development of a portfolio of BTMS - Battery Thermal Management Systems and ITMS - Integrated Thermal Management System through the New Technology Introduction (NTI) and New Product Introduction (NPI) phases. Candidates will have to work closely with cooling technical leads and product groups to understand application requirements to support structural and system integration into the machine applications. Engineers must manage their own development, continuously learn through experience and stay abreast of technology changes. Learning will focus on methods, processes and systems applied to engineering functions, key engineering skills, practical application of theory, communications and building a knowledge of Caterpillar’s products, suppliers, and customers. This individual must have good communication skills to effectively collaborate with various product development teams, suppliers, purchasing, and quality to deliver validated design solutions to our challenging electrification program deliverables and timelines simultaneously. Job Duties: 1. Responsible for BTMS/ITMS system and components development to meet product engineering target & customer requirement, which includes system schematic design, control logic design and optimization, validation, component selection etc. to meet CAT regional and global electric machine development requirements. 2. Leading BTMS/ITMS system and component MGPP (Multiple Generation Product Plan) development and key New Technology development. 3. System optimization for high efficiency and low cost. 4. Develop and conduct DFMEA, DVP & R (design verification plan & report), execute DVP on time as project plan. 5. Assure APQP process completely followed up for component design & development. 6. Support engineering solutions to fix quality issues, e.g. NPI, production quality and CPI issues. 7. Support engineering solutions for component cost reduction and re-sourcing. 8. As system/component design engineer, advise and answer engineering questions which come from cross function team and customers, high frequently collaborate with Supplier Development Engineer, Buyer, Application Engineer, Product Team. 9. Execute supplier strategy to assure supplier technology and quality readiness. This position has End to End accountability to cover product development from concept to field test and production. Bachelor’s degree with 10 years and more engineering experience or Master’s degree with 8 years and more engineering experience in HVAC system/electric and electronics/thermal system/Mechanical Engineering 2. Good at multitasking optimizing and deliver desired result under challenging requirement of quality, cost & timeline. 3. Good English oral and written communication skills 4. Good team collaboration 5. High customer focusing & urgency sense to customer requirement 6. Demonstrated proficiency in Creo and/or other model and drawing design assistance system Desired Experience: 1. Learning capability 2. Strong creativity and leading change 3.
