BASIC FUNCTION Responsible for supplier quality management.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Participate in the development of Asian Supplier Development strategies, procedures and processes.then make Suppliers Development Plan on annual basis in line with company strategy 2. Participate in supplier qualification and selection activities, including taking the lead on supplier quality assessments/process audit and tracking findings 3. Lead Print/Process Reviews(PPR) to to identify all critical factors in advance and set meeting to review the detail drawings by involving engineering/technical/IQC if necessary and clarify all the related requirement to suppliers for NPD projects and current prints revision 4. Participate in initial and sustaining part validation, including Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities as required by the level of criticality of the component 5. Eliminate early product failures through better involving supplier process FMEA’s, Print/Process Reviews(PPR), Advanced Product Quality Planning(APQP), Control Plan development, process capability(Cp,Cpk) and gage studies, and other milestone events 6. Develop, analyze,improve and report Supplier Quality Performance in Xiamen, including PPAP effectiveness, DPPM (Defective Parts Per Million) etc. 7. Perform Supplier quality audits, Identify and pursue opportunities for supplier development in quality systems, products and processes, while driving Corrective Actions & problem root cause analysis as necessary 8. Support Internal Manufacturing / Operations via investigation, analysis and obtaining supplier corrective action for purchased product issues 9. Collaborate with cross-functions/Team work incluing commodity team, engineering team,QA team of Kohler internal facilities etc. 10. Assist Purchase Department achieves targeted cost-down ongoing. 11. Other duties as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS Supervisory Relationships: 1. Reports to Supplier Quality Manager in ASPAC 2. No one should report to this position. Organization Relationships: 1. Frequently contact engineering department, QA department. 2. Frequently contact Operations/Manufacturing regarding purchased part related performance issues. 3. Contract corporate purchasing functions. External Business Relationships: 1. Frequently contact current and potential suppliers regarding product related performance, process control & capability, as well as improvement opportunities 2. Some visits to supplier locations domestic.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 1. Bachelor degree, mechanical specialty. 2. At least 5 years related experience. Previous quality experience with a good understanding of quality processes and systems, manufacturing processes, basic statistical methods and program management are preferred. Six Sigma or other quality certifications are desirable 3. Be good at English writing and speaking. 4. Be familiar with the ISO 9001 System, QS9000(TS16949) preferred.
SKILL LEVEL Performs the Quality Project tasks for assigned categories, suppliers, and regions. This individual should enjoy being a change agent. Should possess good project management skills. Must have the capability to apply various fundamental quality techniques to a wide range of projects. Should be actively developing skills in product, process and system related techniques. Good oral & written communication and computer skills are needed. Must possess the ability to work decently.
