The PCB Designer is responsible for creating and optimizing PCB layouts for electronic devices. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including electrical and mechanical engineers, to ensure designs meet technical, manufacturing, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have expertise in PCB design tools, signal integrity, and industry standards like IPC. Key Responsibilities:
Design & Development: - Create detailed PCB layouts using CAD tools (with Allegro being preferred). - Convert schematics into functional board designs, ensuring adherence to electrical and mechanical specifications. - Design multilayer boards (including flex and rigid-flex) with considerations for impedance control, thermal management, and EMI shielding.
Collaboration: - Work with electrical engineers to define component placement, routing, and design constraints. - Partner with mechanical engineers to ensure PCB integration with enclosures and compliance with spatial requirements. - Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure projects are on track.
Documentation & Compliance: - Review and ensure design outputs are delivered according to the agreed quality and schedule. - Generate Gerber files, assembly drawings, and fabrication notes. - Ensure compliance with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-2221, IPC-7351), DFM/DFT, and regulations (RoHS).
Continuous Improvement: - Stay updated on emerging technologies (e.g., high-speed digital, RF) and industry trends. - Participate in design reviews and quality assurance processes.
Requirements:
Education: - A BSc or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
Experience: - 5+ years of experience in PCB design, including multilayer and high-density layouts, from electronics or telecommunications industries. - Solid experience with analog and digital electrical design, with a preference for audio electrical design. - Strong experience in true wireless headset (TWS) design is preferred. - Solid experience in EMC/EMI design for consumer electronic devices. - Proficiency in ECAD tools (with Allegro being preferred) and schematic capture. - Knowledge of IPC standards, signal integrity, RF, and EMI/EMC principles. - Familiarity with the production and manufacturing processes of PCB and FPC. - Familiarity with manufacturing processes (SMT, through-hole) and vendor collaboration. - Understand the basic functions and be able to perform simple operations of Cam350 software.
Skills: - Fluent in both written and spoken English. - Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills.
