The Mechanical Design position is responsible for working individually, with a local team or global engineering team on product design which satisfy customer specifications. This process includes design, product validation, completing documentation and executing launch items for production. Complete all related drawings, documentations and release in internal systems.
General Responsibilities 61 Leverages engineering fundamentals, and org to make sound decisions on complex technical issues 61 Competitive analysis (benchmarking patent research, cost estimates etc.) 61 Strongly influence design for manufacturability 61 Detailed understanding of market and implications for business 61 Proactively challenge and drives the organization to deliver improved quality and performance related to engineering design 61 Product Strategy participant and driver 61 Maintain product documentation (drawings and specifications) and lessons learned 61 Direct interaction with customers to solicit product specifications requirements, schedule expectations and budget 61 Corrosion research and welding characterization 61 Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, mechanics, fluid, thermo and heat transfer 61 Advanced knowledge of basic electrical circuits, microelectronic assembly, statistical methods, process control fundamentals and product test processes 61 Familiarity with manufacturing methods – welding, brazing, soldering, adhesive bonding, machining, stamping, molding and forming. Basic knowledge of a core manufacturing processes (Calibration, Final Function Transfer, leak testing, welding/soldering, adhesive and gel dispensing)
Experience / Qualifications 61 A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience. 61 Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands 61 Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation 61 Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results 61 Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity 61 Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards 61 Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) 61 Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
