The team at KickAss Products are seeking an experienced Product Sourcing Specialist.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in product sourcing, a passion for outdoor adventure, camping, and electronic gadgets and fluency in both English and Mandarin.

You will be working closely with the Australian founder and our Mandarin speaking team from our office in (塘厦) Tangxia Dongguan. This role will involve staying at the provided accommodation and travelling to visit suppliers when required. There is also the possibility of travelling to Australia.

What We Need:

1. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in product sourcing.
2. Proficiency in both English and Mandarin (written and spoken).
3. A strong understanding of product certifications and compliance requirements across various categories.
4. Proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with factories.
5. Exceptional negotiation skills with a history of achieving favorable outcomes.
6. Experience managing product portfolios is highly desirable.
7. Knowledge of retail packaging to optimize shipping logistics is advantageous.
8. Strong analytical and organizational skills.
9. Willingness to travel within China and attend trade shows as required.
10. A passion for outdoor adventure products and innovation within the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Identify and source high-quality outdoor adventure products that enhance our product portfolio.
2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure optimal pricing and trading terms.
3. Manage sample requests efficiently, collaborating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality checks.
4. Work closely with our engineering team in China to conduct tests against manufacturing specifications, ensuring product performance and safety.
5. Conduct thorough product assessments and compile detailed reports for the management team.
6. Perform market research and analysis to identify trends and emerging products in the outdoor adventure sector.
7. Understand and navigate product certification and compliance requirements relevant to various product categories.
8. Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve favorable pricing and conditions.
9. Manage an existing product portfolio, providing timely updates on product developments and market changes.
10. Travel within China as needed for factory visits, assessments, and supplier meetings.
11. Attend industry trade shows and exhibitions to identify new products and trends, network with potential suppliers, and stay updated on market developments.
12. Collaborate with the head office and relevant teams to align sourcing strategies with company goals.
13. Provide insights and recommendations for retail packaging solutions to optimize shipping and logistics.
