Position Overview: The Senior Fabric Engineer will play a pivotal role in overseeing the end-to-end development and quality assurance processes for fabrics, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of functionality, aesthetics, and durability. This position involves collaboration with design teams, suppliers, and production units to innovate and enhance fabric technologies while adhering to project timelines and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities: 61 Fabric Development: o Lead research and development of new fabric types, blends, and technologies to meet client or market requirements. o Partner with designers and product development teams to incorporate fabric innovations into product designs. o Analyze market trends and emerging technologies to drive forward-looking fabric solutions. 61 Quality Assurance: o Develop and implement comprehensive testing protocols to evaluate fabric performance, including durability, colorfastness, and stretch recovery. o Ensure compliance with international standards and regulations for fabric quality and safety. o Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective measures. 61 Supplier and Vendor Management: o Evaluate and select fabric suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability. o Build strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery and adherence to specifications. o Conduct audits and inspections to maintain consistent supplier quality standards. 61 Process Optimization: o Identify opportunities to enhance production efficiency while maintaining fabric quality. o Drive sustainability initiatives in fabric sourcing and development processes. 61 Reporting and Documentation: o Maintain detailed records of testing outcomes, development processes, and quality assurance measures. o Provide regular updates and reports to leadership teams on fabric development and quality metrics.
Experience/Key Competencies: 61 10+ years experience in a fabric technical role 61 Expertise in fabric technologies, properties, and performance testing. 61 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 61 Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. 61 Knowledge of global fabric standards and regulations. 61 In depth knowledge of performance and intimate category fabrics will be an added advantage
