Working Relationships working with the Programme Coordinators and Head of School Department on all curriculum related matters, the, the Dean of Students on matters related to pastoral care and student wellbeing, and to the CAS Coordinator in planning and/or supervising CAS activities. cooperating with other members of the faculty, regarding the development of academic planning, and good practices; liaising with other members of staff to manage the work of the students. fulfilling other pastoral and co-curricular responsibilities as assigned, keeping external contacts with professional associations as appropriate. Main Duties and Responsibilities The teacher is required to: Update the syllabi, weekly planning documents and unit plans for the delivery of relevant syllabi. Plan and deliver lessons that facilitate active learning experiences and are student centered. Each homeroom is assigned one local staff to support students. Foreign staff will work closely with the mentor and students to communicate with parents. Staff will undertake additional duties, such as monitoring hallways and other such areas, supervising assembly practices, and/or being responsible for lights and sounds for assemblies. supervise/lead CAS and other after-school activities throughout the year as selected by the teacher or assigned by the CAS Coordinator, teachers are to take a minimum of 2 CAS activities per year. Supervise Extended Essays writing where needed. Provide extra classes and/or tutoring sessions once a to support individual students. Assist students with their homework or organize study-related activities in the assigned evenings on a rotational basis as a full-time teacher (evening activities take place between 19:00-21:10). maintain a record of grades and attendance on Managebac system, and complete reports by due dates assigned. Provide feedback appropriately and regularly to students. Mark and provide students with additional guidance and/or work according to their needs. Follow the daily routine which starts at 7:25 am and ends at 16:50 pm; the school generally ends at 15:30pm on Fridays. The PE teacher is expected to stay after school hours and engage the students.in additional PE activities and be involved in late afternoon/early evening sports activities. Attend punctually all Staff, Faculty and Departmental meetings, and be prompt to classes. Produce lists of books and equipment required for the teaching of the subject. Compile a full set of emergency lessons for use by a cover teacher. Follow AIC IT Acceptable User Policy (AUP) (to be provided). Use technology to facilitate teaching and learning in line with the school expectations. Maintain a smart casual standard of dress as outlined in the school’s dress code. Maintain an atmosphere which is conducive to learning in and out of the classroom. Obtain ongoing training in the subject and syllabi by attending workshops, courses etc. Perform any other duties as may be required by the Head of School, for the benefit of the school. Administer guidance for sports programming. Confer with coaches to establish games, events and practice schedules. Determine travel arrangements for away games. Maintain orderly, clean and safe facilities and equipment. Generate and file team and school sports statistics promptly. Comply with school, Leagues and Government rules. Maintain an inventory of all equipment. Be prepared to work evenings and weekends to meet our sporting schedules and booked matches with other schools etc.
