___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Position Summary: Support the design, simulation, and maturation of roll tooling products. Interface with suppliers and customer engineering teams.
Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following:
Tooling Design 61 Work closely with the Product Development Engineer on cross section design and feasibility 61 Develop flower patterns and forming strategies for new tooling sets 61 Design roll forming ancillary tooling in SolidWorks. 61 Create the detailed drawings for the tooling build
Tooling Simulation 61 Maintain simulation request system and provide timely response to requests 61 Prepare and run roll tooling simulations (FEM-Simulation) 61 Analyze simulations and determine appropriate actions to optimize tooling designs 61 Analyze deviations between FEM-Simulation Process and real rollforming process 61 Define and update standards for FEM-Simulation
Tooling Build 61 Support the build of the tooling 61 Work with the build team / vendors to continuously reduct costs of tooling
Tooling Maturation 61 Coordinate *** run cross section analysis for all tooling globally 61 Maintain database of *** run performance and anaylize for trends to determine actions to get to ‘1st part good’ 61 Work with the plant teams on tooling changes required to meet part quality requirements 61 Implement lesson learned from maturation into design and simulation standards
Tooling Innovation 61 Drive activities to achieve the vision of ‘1st Part Good’ 61 Establish projects based on customer need to advance tooling strategies for high precsion parts 61 Develop and test forming strategies for the latest steel grades

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions. 61 Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. 61 5-10 years rollforming experience (design, tryout, manufacturing). 61 Previous experience in rollforming industry required. 61 Demonstrated expertise in AutoCAD and SolidWorks 61 Experience with Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). 61 Well organized and even temperament to meet dynamic nature of manufacturing. 61 Innovative problem-solving capabilities. 61 Ability to analyze FEM-Simulation and define improvements 61 Strong written and verbal communication skills. 61 Ability to relate and interact with associates, vendors, and customers at all levels. 61 Ability to efficiently manage multiple activities, simultaneously, achieving excellent results. 61 Fluent in English 61 Demonstrated ability to communicate across cultures.
