The role of a Tooling Engineer is to manage the process of feasibility analysis, tool & machine specification written, technical review with supplier, tool design validation, tool build follow up and tool try out, respecting objectives set in terms of Quality, Delivery and Cost. The main missions of the role are to: 1. Be responsible for the successful completion of tooling programs from receipt of order through a successful "Run at Rate" 2. Track and report the status of the tooling project, following the ratio of expenses against budget and monitoring quality, cost and delivery performance (i.e. presentations, meetings...) 3.Be in charge of communication with program team and supplier, and for providing documentation 4.Keep up to date documentation related to new tooling 5.Support Engineer Change Requests (quoting, implementation, etc...) 6. Ensure the new tooling equipment conforms to the Group's Health, Safety & Environment standards 7.Validate the tooling (Run at Rate) 8.Contribute to the improvement of tooling standards 9.Train the operators on the safe operation of new tooling equipment, properly identified, and provide them with tooling instruction 10.Propose and implement continuous productivity and quality improvement actions concerning subcontracting and tooling department services
The ideal candidate will have/be: Bachelor's degree in Engineering 3 to 5 years of experience within the automotive industry is better Experience in project management is better Working knowledge of Quality systems and Health, Safety & Environment practices Strong teamwork skills, interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work in a matrix organization Good English Communication (written and spoken) Avability to travel
