The role of a Tooling Engineer is to manage the process of feasibility analysis, tool & machine specification written, technical review with supplier, tool design validation, tool build follow up and tool try out, respecting objectives set in terms of Quality, Delivery and Cost. The main missions of the role are to:
74 Be responsible for the successful completion of tooling programs from receipt of order through a successful "Run at Rate"
74Track and report the status of the tooling project, following the ratio of expenses against budget and monitoring quality, cost and delivery performance (i.e. presentations, meetings...)
74 Be in charge of communication with program team and supplier, and for providing documentation
74 Keep up to date documentation related to new tooling
74 Support Engineer Change Requests (quoting, implementation, etc...)
74 Ensure the new tooling equipment conforms to the Group's Health, Safety & Environment standards
74 Validate the tooling (Run at Rate)
74 Contribute to the improvement of tooling standards
74 Train the operators on the safe operation of new tooling equipment, properly identified, and provide them with tooling instruction
74 Propose and implement continuous productivity and quality improvement actions concerning subcontracting and tooling department services
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have/be:
74 Bachelor's degree in Engineering
74 3 to 5 years of experience within the automotive industry is better
74 Experience in project management is better
74 Working knowledge of Quality systems and Health, Safety & Environment practices
74 Strong teamwork skills, interpersonal and communication skills
