Operating since 1945, SKOPE Industries is a New Zealand based company which designs, manufactures and supplies commercial refrigeration products globally.
To support SKOPE’s business growth in China, we are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to be based in SKOPE Qingdao office and support our design process with our Chinese manufacturing partner.
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for creating and developing cost effective designs for SKOPE’s refrigeration product to be manufactured at production facilities in China. Additionally, they will be involved with specific product development projects for SKOPE Qingdao and strategic partners in China.
Responsibilities:
61 Design and develop mechanical systems for new Refrigeration products and enhance existing refrigeration products, ensuring that:
61 Facilitate design cooperation and the transfer of SKOPE designed products into third party production facilities.
61 Be a key part of the design team designated to specific product development projects for SKOPE strategic partners in China.
61 Project champion specific projects as required, setting technical direction to enable the achievement of desired technical objectives.
61 Provide engineering support to teams on site at SKOPE’s strategic partner facilities.

61 Be a key part of the SKOPE Qingdao team developing on site production facilities.
61 Co-ordinate with other SKOPE project team members to achieve planned milestones.
61 Actively participate in the development of production tools and processes to achieve the flexibility and quality objectives of the production facility.
Requirements:
61 Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Chinese and English.
61 7+ years mechanical design experience
61 Bachelor degree, mechanical related major.
61 Must be competent with SolidWorks Software.
61 Detailed oriented, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
61 Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with external/internal customers and stakeholders.
