Global Commodity Metal Position Summary & Scope: The Global Commodity Manager - Metal reports directly to the Global Commodity VP and leads the Commodity Metal for the entire company from a global perspective. The successful candidate will act as the Management interface between the Commodity VP and the Regional Commodity Buyers. The role functionally & disciplinary leads the Commodity Buyers across the Regions and ensures the execution of existing Global Supplier Contracts, manages resources, prepares project initiatives (such as value creation projects), tracks the Commodity’s KPIs and interacts with Global Purchasing Controlling, Global Supplier Quality Management and other involved Co-functions. Responsibilities and frequent activities: — To lead by example! Follow and make sure that the assigned commodity purchasing team follows the JSS core values and compliance rules — To ensure the best price on a global supply market for all products in commodity Metal — To develop a comprehensive global commodity purchasing strategy for Metal (3-5 years view) based on global/regional business strategy and PBU strategy — To ensure the global implementation of the commodity strategy including action plans in each region (road maps) — Responsible for strategic and tactical steering of the purchasing volume in the assigned commodity — To represent the global commodity towards all suppliers and internal stakeholders — To execute annual price negotiations with all relevant suppliers to (over-)achieve the budget saving/PPV target — To ensure implementation of global and regional purchasing initiatives (e.g. sourcing committee, processes & procedures, IT tools, etc.) — Responsible for supplier management starting from new supplier introduction to supplier phase out, compiling supply market intelligence, identifying purchasing risks, opportunities and ensuring data transparency — To collaborate and support with supplier quality management to achieve 0 ppm with all suppliers — Constantly monitor all relevant KPI′s on the achievement of targets, gap to target, actions to close the gap together with the commodity team — To present supplier innovations and to ensure the implementation in JSS, if technically and commercially feasible — Support and implement value creation projects worldwide Prerequisites: — College/university degree in business administration / engineering graduate or comparable studies (preferable with a major in Purchasing Management) — Demonstrated experience in Commodity Management Metal, with an emphasis in a comparable Commodity — Experience to work in a larger scale company — A strong KPI and fact-based thinker with an execution bias — Regarded as transformational and/or a change agent — Strong collaborative (distance) leader and team coach — Comfortable with functioning in a global matrix operating environment — Multi-cultural and/or global experience — Demonstration of JSS core values: team spirit, customer focus, creativity, quality orientation and cost awareness — Strong Business Excellence thinking (capable in applying Problem solving tools such as LEAN; 6S, KAIZEN and or RedX) — Awareness for absolute data integrity — Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially Outlook and PowerPoint as well as a Global Purchasing System — Excellent Business English
