* Lead a multidisciplinary team of drug discovery scientists to invent future medicines treating metabolic diseases. Responsibilities may include planning and independently completing in vitro/in vivo experiments to support preclinical characterization and evaluation of targets/pathways that regulate body weight/composition, muscle mass, and energy balance.
* Proven expertise in building disease-relevant cellular assays for metabolic disorders using immortalized and/or primary human and animal cells, including iPSCs, coculture and/or organoid culture systems.
* Perform molecular and biochemical assessments on ex vivo samples in collaboration with colleagues in other departments.
* Demonstrated ability to achieve results in a matrix organization.
* Requirement for accurate record keeping, independent data analysis, and reporting of data in written and oral formats. Exceptional attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly articulate complex concepts at all levels of the organization.
Desired:
* A background in the biology and physiology of energy balance regulation and metabolic diseases.
* Experience with in vitro, ex vivo metabolic function assays to assess insulin sensitivity, glucose and lipid metabolism, mitochondrial function in cells or tissues.
* Preferred experience includes: In vitro pharmacology and experience working with metabolic relevant cell types and ex vivo system (adipocytes, skeletal myocytes, pancreatic beta cells, isolated muscle, islets).
Qualifications
* PhD with a focus on metabolism, physiology, biology or related field.
* 3+ years Work experience on drug discovery teams in metabolism discovery, preferably with a focus on muscle metabolism in pharmaceutical industry settings is highly desired.
* Expertise in in vivo workflows, experimental design, execution, data analysis and interpretation. 我们是谁
