The Research Manager (RM) is responsible for development and execution of the research strategy and portfolio in China for the Ultrasound business. RM represents China needs during the development of the global research needs for each ultrasound business and then work with cross functional team to develop and execute a China specific research plan. The RM is responsible for ensuring the China research portfolio supports the Ultrasound business focus and the individual study results are being utilized and delivering impact. The RM manages research KOL engagement around product development and research and should develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with clinical leaders in Ultrasound in China. Roles and Responsibilities Understands the business strategy, product portfolio, and roadmap and innovation plans Collaborate with Segment Research Managers, Business leadership, Chief Engineers, Product Managers, Marketing, Clinical, Regulatory Affairs, Legal/Compliance, Central Research Organization, clinical institutions to ensure comprehensive research strategies and plans are developed. Respond to and assess incoming research proposals. Guide decision making for prioritization and resource allocation across the full research portfolio in China Seek out academic partners well-suited for GE partnership. Understand their strengths, collaboration interests, and how their work could support the research strategy. Follow scientific developments through participation in MABs, scientific conferences, scientific/medical training sessions, and strategic partner meetings and communicate to business. Define product strategic research needs from business planning sessions, utilizing feedback from product development team. Partner with segment research managers to ensure China needs are incorporated into specific evidence strategies and plans including evaluation plans. Partner with Research Program Integrator (RPI) to support execution on research studies. Assess and support the utilization of research results. Measure impact and value to business of the individual studies and the full research portfolio. Required Qualifications Master’s Degree in life science, engineering, clinical field, or equivalent 5+ years or equivalent of technical, clinical, or research experience in a clinical setting, industry, or government agency Demonstrated understanding and experience with GXP practices, research or device manufacturer regulations, research processes, or NPI cycles Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Desired Characteristics MD or PHD 5+ years of experience in Ultrasound Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
