JOB DIMENSIONS Company manufactures various high-performance polymers globally to support the growing market in Asia-Pacific region. The PVDF product lines generate high margin in Asia and are expected to grow in the coming years by membrane, semi-conduct and biopharma by innovative solution providing. The Business Development Engineer is based in company Shanghai office and main mission is to develop new business in traditional membrane market and dig into semi-conduct & bio-pharma markets by introducing diversified solutions. 1) Products: Mainly PVDF product lines 2) Market: 60% in water membrane (Plus Kyblock and E-spinning applications) and 40% on semi-conductor & Bio-pharma (market breakthrough by diversified solutions) 3) Area: Greater China 4) Interaction: R&D team in China, sales team, Asia/Global membrane and CPI team, customers, OEMs ACTIVITIES Main missions of the job holder are: -Development new business/solution through strong technical knowledge in water treatment key accounts like Dupont Omex, Supratec etc, reach NBD goals with sales team -Well position company in China semi-conductor and bio-pharma market; identify and promote solutions with global team (focus on membrane and CPI grades) Business Development activities - Prepare business development plan for three markets by close communication with global market manager and China team and implement the milestone. - Visit key accounts (Dupont Omex, Cobetter, SMIC etc…) regularly and learn their demands. Develop key partnership with these key accounts. - Approach raw materials/equipment manufactures to learn technical trend, collect updated market/competitor information, and share with relative global team. Collect competitors’ samples to R&D team. -Present in conference or tradeshow related to these markets, promote company solution and image - Approach to EPCs - Set up local benchmarks and test capabilities with CRDC Reporting activities Write concisely and timely visit reports & diffuse them to related team by using sales force Input detailed idea proposal using related database Provide monthly report activity to direct Manager and market groups CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT - High Performance Polymers Business Unit is one of the major Departments of company; it holds Worldwide Leader positions with several of its product range and in several markets. - Environment control is more important in Great China, low VOC coating and water treatment are booming - Company strategy to Aquatec/powder coating/membrane grades to different applications QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge: Master’s degree or plus in Material Science or Engineering Polymer, Fluent in Chinese and English, French speaking is prefer. Office IT tool. Knowledge of polymer on water membrane (Fluoropolymer experience is preferred); Know how: Ability for teamwork. Ability to work in multi-cultural & multifunctional team. Ability for business networking. Presentation skill in both academic and business settings is essential. Good communication skills with local and overseas teams, and with clients. Good key accounts management experience.
