As Risk Stewards, Senior Regulatory Compliance Manager provide advice, guidance, opinions, direction, and training related to the regulatory landscape to the First Line of Defence/business. They ensure the business complies with the letter and spirit of relevant regulations, thereby delivering fair outcomes for customers and embedding a robust risk management culture in HSBC's business processes. We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team. In this role, you will: 1. Work with the Compliance Head and Line Manager to ensure the successful implementation of the strategy. 2. Oversight the implementation of new laws and regulations in terms of insurance products, serviece and business as well as Group requirements, and liaise with relevant departments for necessary actions and follow up to ensure timely implementation. 3. Pro-actively assisting management in identifying and containing compliance risk, monitoring, reporting and certification, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators. 4. Support Line Manager on the implementation of RC program including providing effective compliance input on relevant compliance issues; liaison with business in addressing compliance risks and advising on relevant procedures. 5. Assist to handle regulatory matters including on-site inspections, meetings, visits, surveys, administrative approvals, policy imperatives, etc. 6. Support the compliance training and promote compliance culture in PINB. 7. Work with the wider compliance functions to identify emerging regulatory risk and to enhance and expand reportable issues. 8. Ensure effective Regulatory Compliance input to the governance and reporting processes operated by Global Business/Global functions/HOST Leadership & Teamwork 1. Maintain and develop positive and professional working relationships with business managers and Compliance colleagues. 2. Share regulatory updates, issues identified in daily oversight and regulatory inspection to Compliance colleagues. Operational Effectiveness & Control: 1. All regulatory documents handled and responded properly and timely. 2. Maximize the overall effectiveness of those controls Compliance must work in harmony with other Head Office and control functions and co-operate with them where appropriate. 3. Assist Chief Compliance Officer and Line manager to oversee effective implementation of internal compliance policies including RC policies and compliance requirements from regulators and Group/Region, and provide good support to the business development of the Company. 4. Contribute in the creation of a framework for the effective risk-based monitoring of the implementation of Regulatory Compliance related policies and controls across the business. 5. Protect the good reputation of the brand and maintain highest standards of conduct. Qualifications To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements: 1. Experience - 10+ years working experience as compliance staff at insurance company or insurance intermediary company, with well understanding on insurance related regulation and compliance risk management. - Exposure to demanding operational environments to gain insight into the most effective compliance management applications - Working across all levels of the organization to understand cross-functional linkages and interdependencies, as well as the implications of compliance at both a strategic level and at the business unit level. - Experience of leading and coordinating a sizeable team. 2. Skills - Demonstrated board-based business knowledge and the regulatory requirements of the insurance industry and securities laws & regulations in China, which helps to determine solutions around appropriate compliance measures, processes, monitoring and management; - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to articulate the case for compliance management in the language of business; - Right judgment about the local regulatory requirements and good business vision and decision-making capability. - Specialist knowledge in Insurance, Wealth and related regulations in Mainland China. - Excellent communication skills to foster a good relation with the local regulators and the business lines and other functions. - Understand and interpret complex business requirements, and ability to apply entrepreneurial and commercial thinking to make robust/tough recommendation which may be contrary to the business wishes - Ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence at the most middle level in the organization, and to drive changes; - Demonstrated ability to assess Compliance trends, both internally and externally; - Proven ability to prioritize competing demands; - Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese, with bachelor’s degree or equivalent; - Leadership and management ability.
