What you’ll do 61 Translate customer requirements into functional specifications (mechanical related) 61 Define the mechanical design based on the functional specification in cooperation with system engineers, electronic engineers, thermal engineer, process engineer and safety engineer 61 Apply design principles for cost, performance, manufacturability (parts making and assembly), heat management, packing, compliance with internal and external standards 61 Use tool (like UG) to design the mechanical structure, include electronic components design. 61 Knowledgeable about materials (plastics, metal, die-casting, ceramic, thermal material, and etc.) properties and supplier 61 Design and adaptation for fast-prototype for verification of concept and/or build up demonstration 61 Knowledgeable of tooling and process (injection molding, die casting, stamping, and etc.) 61 Deliver design drawings (2D, 3D) and other mechanical documents (BOM, dimension measurement solution, 110sheet) per request of project manager, purchasing and marketing 61 Release mechanical parts together with tooling for product, process, and production release 61 Apply agreed procedures of project management 61 Support process engineer, development quality engineer and supplier quality engineer to solve problem once request 61 Actively participate in Mechanical Competence meeting to share learning, discuss issues, and work on long term program 61 Scout for new material, component, technology, supplier for better quality, lower cost and new feature 61 Generate innovative ideas/IPs together with other colleagues to help Philips build up strong position in SSL business
What you’ll need 61 BSc/MSc in ME, preferably more than 5 years of practical experience. 61 The candidate has a mechanical back-ground with knowledge of material properties, tooling and has demonstrated a great drive for getting things done, on-time. 61 The candidate should be familiar with mechanical design software, like UG. 61 The candidate should be familiar with development quality tools to ensure the quality of design. 61 Good command of the English language in both speaking and writing is a must. 61 Sense of urgency and high resilience level 61 Strong execution and ability of driving for result 61 Ability to work under stress and ambiguity
