Job Overview General Mills China is seeking a data analyst to add to the success of our data team. The data analyst should have a strong passion to use data meticulously and empower business to improve channel sales performance with data visibility and insight. The data analyst will be working closely with sales and finance team to understand the business requirement, dashboard demo design, clarify KPI definition and work out the data logic based on the data material in GMI data lake and cooperate with data engineer to delivery data product. Main Responsibilities: Requirement Analytics (40%) - Participate actively in all aspects of requirement understanding, designing, researching, building, and delivering data-focus products for business end users from sales, finance team etc. Be able to create demo in excel/Quick BI or any other prototype tool to confirm design with key stake holders. - Strong hands-on skill on data exploration to understand the data in data lake and the data logic in users’ manual reports(most likely excel reports) to clarify the data logic and align the KPI definitions and calculation rules. - Good presentation and documentation skill to describe the requirement and logic in both business and technical ways. - Data gap analysis and troubleshooting skill to identify the rout cause for any mismatch and drive for solutions. Data Analyst (30%) - Work out the dashboard in Quick BI according to the requirement, assist users to perform UAT, and carry out user trainings. - Be able to support ad-hoc data request and topic analysis on demand. Data Operation (30%) - Being contact window for the key users if any changes to the existing dashboards or any issues reported. - Work with data engineer or vendors to support data products including dashboards and data sets for supporting drag-pull self-service. - Summarize the data issues and propose proper data maintenance process/data process/data definitions that aligned with business to ensure report accuracy. Education and Experience - Degree Requirements: Bachelors - Preferred Major Area of Study: Computer Science, Analytics, Statics/math - Minimum years of related experience required: 2-4 - Preferred years of related experience: 5-8 Specific Job Experience or Skills Needed - Bachelor's Degree - Over 5 years of working experience in a data-driven role and business knowledge of FMCG industry, especially 2B retail business module. - Demonstrate ability to turn data into actionable insights and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions. - Ability to effectively communicate complex structures in a simple fashion to variety of audiences (e.g. management, business partners, analysts and technical experts) - Proficient in data visualization solution and experienced in Ali data visualization tool Quick BI and excel as well. - Considerable experience in writing efficient SQL . - Experience with Ali big data platform (Maxcompute and Dataworks) is a plus. - Good English language skill.
