Main Responsibilities 61 Maintain existing and build new relationships for IXM while strengthening our reputation within the industry. Manage the company’s zinc and lead trading activities in China. Source material from producers and traders in the region and market the material to smelters and traders on a spot and annual basis either directly in the region or further afield. 61 Travel/entertaining clients/attendance of industrial conference are required. 61 Work in coordination with the trading team, always aiming for business that carries enough margin or strategic value to justify itself. 61 Seek new business opportunities in zinc and lead for IXM in China on both import and domestic basis. 61 Provide data and information to IXM market analysts to help build and maintain accurate supply/demand balance sheets and gain more understanding of demand and market dynamics. 61 Coordinate with traffic/WSMD/treasury/trade finance/credit/control teams to ensure smooth execution of contracts and good service to customers. 61 Build and maintain strong relationships with the concentrate trading teams in other IXM offices. 61 Identify and shepherd opportunities to invest or lend money to mining/smelting companies in return for off-take or trading flows. Raise such opportunities to business development team. 61 Manage important strategic stakeholder relationships in the region as mandated by management. 61 Logistics coordination/management for concentrate business conducted in the region and coordinated with the other business lines to achieve group synergies 61 Support the development of junior trading staff in the region and provide training where necessary. 61 Support the traffic team in the region as necessary. 61 Take responsibility for the abidance of company trading compliance policies and best practices for Trade to Cash including risk management. 61 Take responsibility for the relevant products’ data management in the company’s front end system including contract issuance, contract entry, and all client exposures (e.g. hedging, inventory, receivables, weights, and assay losses).
Education, Skills and Experience 61 Proven trading experience 61 Fully proficient in execution and logistics of products 61 Strong understanding of hedging of price / spread risk / arbitrage 61 Understanding of competitive landscape in the region 61 Strong team spirit, open to a constant dialogue with colleagues around the world. 61 PC literacy MS Word and Excel 61 Strong written and verbal communication skills 61 Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
