Global IT Manager - Infrastructure and Operations main tasks and activities: JOB OVERVIEW Global IT Manager - Infrastructure and Operations is responsible for the delivery of IT Infrastructure Core services (this includes, but is not limited to LAN & WAN services, Server Virtualization & Storage, Security Operations, Backup & Recovery, Datacenter management). The role oversees the IT operations, manages IT Infrastructure projects, develops services and maintains the contact and contracts with Infra. suppliers, and coordinates the global IT service delivery (including the Business IT services) based on ITIL processes. Global IT Manager - Infrastructure and Operations manages the global IT Infrastructure team (consists of IT Infrastructure architects and engineers) and ensures the global standardized way of working (e.g. follow-the-sun support and expanding the use of ITIL). The role manages the portfolio of IT Infrastructure projects and serves as an advisor for Business-IT projects. Global IT Manager - Infrastructure and Operations works closely with the IT Security Officer and has a deep understanding of IT/Cyber security. This position is a key member of the global IT management team, develops the global IT Infrastructure strategy, ensures consistent reporting and initiates improvements in the IT Service Management area. SCOPE OF ACTIVITIES Global IT Infrastructure Manager is involved in four key processes within Inalfa’s ‘Manage Information technology’ (5.6) process (as described in the Process House): - Develop and manage IT strategy (5.6.1) - Design, develop and deploy IT infra. architecture, services and solutions (design and build) (5.6.2) - Perform (execute) IT operations (run and maintain) (5.6.3) - Administrate IT (5.6.4) Global IT Manager - Infrastructure and Operations will prove competent and take responsibility for the following activities (with respect to the four processes mentioned above). The Global IT Infrastructure and Operations Director acts as leader in the relevant technical/ functional domains. Develop and manage IT strategy (5.6.1) - Connects with peers in the organization to stay aligned with the business context (business strategy and trends), as well as change requirements in other enterprise architecture viewpoints (such as business, information, and solution) to derive the future-state technology strategy. This includes understanding high level requirements, fit in the Inalfa landscape (including technology adoption), principles and models that guide technology decisions for the enterprise. - Creates and maintains IT Infrastructure strategy documents and initiates and manages execution of the strategy through new projects. - Oversees the analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact (regarding costs, skills, technology, security) on the enterprise as well as on the enterprise technology strategy and architecture. - Stays up to date with technology and market trends. Develops knowledge and skills in diverse ways (learn from peers, study, visit vendors, training & conferences) - Coaches, mentors, and collaborates with global and regional staff and peers to develop technology knowledge and experience that enables and drives the business. - Leads the contractual aspects of evaluation and selection of hardware and software technology and product standards. Works closely with MRO Purchase, suppliers and the finance department. - Ensures that information security and data privacy are always considered in the (execution of the) IT strategy. Design, develop and deploy IT services and solutions (design and build) (5.6.2) - Manages the team to deliver technology implementations and modification activities (for example, projects and products), for business related solutions. - Leads application or infrastructure development projects to harmonize systems or infrastructure with the enterprise technology architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify the technology architecture to accommodate immediate or future project needs. - Coordinates and/or leads technical change through projects to deliver business improvements while involving SMEs from other areas of the business. - Participates in-, or leads security improvement projects (in cooperation with the Global Information Security Officer) - Documents necessary enterprise technology architecture design, ensures proper documentation of IT Infrastructure projects Perform (execute) IT operations (run and maintain) (5.6.3) - Optimize the operational support and cost from a global perspective. Ensures efficient and affective operations through standardization and reduction of complexity. - Oversees and acts as escalation point on both security events follow-up and measures to reduce attack surfaces. - Oversees and acts as escalation point on monitoring of IT Services and solutions, system performance and provide troubleshooting and maintenance as needed. - Oversees and acts as escalation point on daily IT infrastructure incidents. Sets operational priorities for the global IT Infrastructure team. - Responsible for and oversees escalations to- and liaises with IT infrastructure related external suppliers. - Prioritizes and manages change management of IT services and solutions. - Oversees and acts as escalation point on maintaining patch levels of IT Infrastructure related systems and services. - Responsible for the operational management of IT Core Services, including achieving operational KPI’s (Incidents, Requests, Changes) and continuous improvement of the service. - Organizes Monthly IT Operations meeting with the Global IT management team, prepares the monthly analysis, ensures follow up of actions. - Ensures continuous improvement of IT Service management processes (ITIL based) for the whole global IT team. Owns the IT Service Management tooling. Administrate IT (5.6.4) - Manage supplier contracts, order services, organize approvals, cost management - Maintain relations with suppliers, work with internal functional teams (MRO Purchase, Legal, HR) to ensure appropriate resource management - Manage and maintain internal SLA’s What do we expect from you? Technical Skills 61 Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience 61 Experienced and excellent knowledge in modern infrastructure technologies, architecture and international solutions, including but not limited to: SD-WAN, VLAN, server and workstation virtualization, Azure Cloud, Cloud Native, Microsoft 365, Firewall, Production network and Edge Computing, data center facilities etc. 61 Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and scripting 61 Good understanding of common security elements like firewalls, anti-malware, SIEM. 61 General understanding of information security standards and models, like ISO27001, TISAX, NIST, CIS Controls, and common security standards. 61 Good knowledge about backup and (disaster) recovery principles and implementations. 61 Good knowledge of managing software packages and patch levels using InTune. Competencies 61 Strong interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation. Experience in managing international teams across multiple time zones and member of international management teams.
