General Description: The IT Business Relationship Manager will work with both IT and business stakeholders to support laboratory digitalization program planning and execution, lifecycle management activities for foundational laboratory software applications and servers, and maintain information for site/laboratory/pc/policy footprints to ensure effective business transformation for all digital laboratory initiatives. Technology & Innovation at Celanese includes our Customer Enablement teams (CAE, Advanced Testing, Processing, Prototyping, Assembly) and Product Development teams (Chemists, Scientists, Technologists) who work together to developing new materials and applications for our materials. Main Responsibilities: 61 Provide Business Solution Services (e.g. application support) for current foundational digital laboratory technologies to ensure business satisfaction. o Serve as a point of contact and escalation for T&I application/product owners and T&I leadership team members for IT related digital laboratory issues. o Build and maintain a detailed knowledgebase for the implementation, configuration, licensing, et al. related to our laboratory applications. o Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems, in collaboration with T&I, IT, and external vendors, to minimize disruption to laboratory operations. Manages RAID activities and Service Now change tasks as required. o Plan and execute application upgrades, patches, retirements that follow IT policies and processes with T&I Product Owners o Manage IT related business risks (security, application roadmap, etc.) 61 Partner with global EUC and local IT resources to manage installation, configuration, and maintenance of laboratory pcs, software, peripherals in accordance with defined digital laboratory policies and initiatives. o Manage and maintain detailed information for site/laboratory/pc/policy footprints o Manage and maintain detailed information related to software deployments and licensing needs o Manage and maintain detailed information for is-state assessments of laboratory readiness/implementation/adoption phase of digital laboratory programs and initiatives 61 Understand laboratory stakeholder challenges and collaborate with IT and T&I leadership to stimulate, surface, and shape demand for IT products and services o Define functional and technical requirements for specific use cases that support digitalization of the laboratory process(es) o Develop understanding of how new technologies can be used to replace existing processes and/or applications o Collaborate with IT and T&I leadership to build business cases for digital laboratory initiatives o Provide highly-valued strategic consulting level support and guidance through key IT initiatives
61 Partner with IT and T&I business partners to shape and prioritize implementations in support of digital laboratory transformation. o Partner with IT PMO and T&I PMO resources to manage projects from initiation to closure ensuring timely delivery to meet milestones & objectives. o Partner with external vendors and third party providers on existing deliverables and new requirements in support of the digital laboratory strategy. Key Skills: 61 Knowledge of materials research or quality laboratory computing environment including non-pc based instruments and devices 61 Current knowledge of Information Systems nomenclature, concepts and practices 61 Excellent English communication (oral and written) 61 Strong interpersonal/human relations skills; Must have the ability to listen to the needs of the business, build rapport and partner strategically with various stakeholders, leadership, and functional teams. 61 Skill in establishing and monitoring performance metrics 61 Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with high degrees of self-motivation, adaptability and attention to detail 61 Able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated IT architects, BRMs, and network engineers 61 Ability to develop effective requirements documentation that will serve as basis for technology decisions and validation of technology selection 61 Ability to get hands-on to execute application upgrades/patches, troubleshoot and resolve application server issues on demand. Primary focus on Windows Server based technologies. 61 Demonstrated self-starter with capability to develop innovative solutions to challenges; Ability to learn quickly, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and comply with company policies 61 Ability to manage complex projects to meet aggressive targets and timelines
Desired Education and Experience: 61 Bachelor’s degree preferred in computer science, information management, engineering, or related field. 61 Minimum 5 years related experience in support of laboratory information system interfaces, servers, software applications or computing environment 61 Minimum 5 years related experience in IT engaging with Quality or R&D business partners supporting the full application life cycle domain: requirements definitions with business, application selection, deployment, support, upgrade, interfacing and decommissioning.
