Roles & Responsibilities 1. Drive and coordinate the period-end closing activities. Ensure the accounts are recorded and reported on-time, with quality and in full compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP. 2. Work with shared service team to make ensure monthly/quarterly closing task (MJE, account rec) and other controllership related activities are completed on time with agreed quality. 3. Conduct BS analysis and respond to inquiries from business and finance partners regarding actuals, work with broader teams to enhance internal control process. 4. Assist the China Controller in the review of balance sheet, commercial contracts and upfront involvement in structuring terms & conditions on customer contracts and other commercial related activities. 5. Assist the China Controller in process improvement, transformation, and automation opportunities by leveraging technology. 6. Ensure statutory financial statements, various government reporting and relevant tax filing support are completed, filed timely and compliance with local laws and regulations. 7. Conduct other annual/quarterly/ad hoc analysis related to Controllership activities.
Required Qualifications 1. Minimum 3-5 years progressive accounting or finance experience; Native level Chinese and business level English capability; 2. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate commitment to meet deadlines; 3. Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change; 4. Clear thinking / problem solving: able to support and lead cross-functional projects/process improvement within operations/finance function involving process improvement; able to grasp new ideas quickly; 5. Excellent communication skills: experience working closely with multiple functions and regions; 6. Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others; 7. Adaptable/flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations.
Desired Characteristics 1. Execution focused - analyze and resolve problems to meet business objectives and financial commitments. 2. Solid PC skills: experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: SAP, Business Objects, Hyperion, etc.), strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation 3. Strong critical thinking skills, the ability to assess various complex issues and come to quick solutions.
