Main Purpose The selected persons will initially be required to perform specific projects / tasks as may be assigned from time to time before being deployed for full time work on a single desk. The selected persons should be willing to perform such projects / tasks which provide them an overview of the work in the General Accounting services area as well as understand the business, computer systems, process details and procedures. Requires flexibility on part of a selected candidate to adapt to different work requirements which could change from time to time. Other key tasks : - Be responsible for daily employee reimbursement check as expense partner - Work as AP accountant on non-trading payments - Liaising with Treasury desks to check bank statements and perform Bi-weekly bank reconciliation for non-trading bank accounts - Assist in the exercise of financial control over books by performing such checks as may be prescribed - Assist Accounting manager in daily work and process/efficiency improvement projects - Assist IT design/Test/Migration/Implementation as well as ad-hoc projects once needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Economics - 1-3 years’ accounting or audit related experience - Ability to design and map accounting processes into AP/AR/GL/Overhead - Proficient in MS office - High business acumen and learning propensity - Ability to work under pressure and meet aggressive deadlines - Good command of English - Knowledgeable about IFRS & PRC GAAP; ACCA & CICPA certification preferred - Experiences in manufacturing costing or commodity trading a plus - Experiences in Oracle System a plus
Desirable experience in: - ERP - Knowledge of hedging (currency and metals)
