Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and creative Social Media Manager with a strong focus on content planning, development, and video editing for Chinese social media platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and executing engaging content strategies tailored to diverse platforms, crafting unique stories through text, visuals, and videos that captivate Chinese audiences. This role is ideal for a content-1st professional who excels in both creative production and storytelling, with a passion for digital media trends and cultural relevance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Content Planning & Development (25%)
61 Develop and implement content calendars for platforms such as WeChat, Weibo, Xiaohongshu, and Douyin, aligning with clients' brand strategies and marketing objectives. 61 Craft engaging and culturally relevant content in Chinese, tailored to platform-specific audiences and trends. 61 Collaborate with internal teams to brainstorm and plan original content themes, seasonal campaigns, and viral opportunities.
2. Video Production & Editing (30%)
61 Curate and edit short videos optimized for platforms like Douyin and Xiaohongshu, ensuring high engagement and shareability. 61 Oversee the entire video production lifecycle, from scripting and storyboarding to post-production and distribution. 61 Stay updated on video trends, tools, and techniques to ensure cutting-edge content delivery.
3. Social Media Account Management (20%)
61 Operate and maintain clients’ social media accounts, ensuring a cohesive and consistent voice across platforms. 61 Monitor account performance, analyse audience engagement metrics, and provide regular reports with actionable insights. 61 Adapt content formats and strategies to maximize engagement on each platform, from long-form WeChat articles to snackable Douyin videos.
4. Influencer & Media Coordination (10%)
61 Identify and collaborate with relevant influencers and creators to amplify content visibility and credibility. 61 Manage influencer partnerships, ensuring alignment with content goals and authentic audience engagement.
5. Client Liaison (15%)
61 Collaborate with clients to develop, execute, and refine social media strategies and campaigns. 61 Act as a bridge between the creative team and clients, ensuring brand voice consistency and alignment with marketing objectives. 61 Prepare reports on service effectiveness and maintain open communication with clients to ensure satisfaction.
Qualifications
61 At least 3 years of experience in content creation, video editing, or social media management in China. 61 Advanced proficiency in video production and editing tools, such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent. 61 Exceptional Chinese copywriting skills 61 Proficiency in content creation tools like Adobe Creative Suite and Canva. 61 Strong understanding of the Chinese social media ecosystem, with experience on platforms such as Douyin, Xiaohongshu, WeChat, and Weibo. 61 Familiarity with emerging digital trends, particularly in video and short-form content. 61 Basic English proficiency 61 Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.
