Job Purpose: Safely implement capital projects for process plant including process design development, procurement, installation and commissioning Key Responsibilities: 1. Assist GMT UK engineer to develop initial designs and layouts for capital projects. Or develop initial designs and layouts for projects under own control. And then expand them into detailed plans and drawings with the Chinese contractors. 2. Support GMT UK Engineering team to investigate the potential suppliers from China on major projects undertaken by GMT worldwide. 3. Implement equipment FAT test for the machine that manufactured by the Chinese suppliers to deliver on time and to budget. 4. Ensure full documentation from the Chinese suppliers of all projects will be delivered on time with good quality. 5. Supervising all the mechanical installation work on project sites to ensure all the activities under Saint-Gobain EHS requirements. 6. Assist with the Chinese contractors to provide the training for operators and maintenance personnel at project site. 7. Assist GMT UK team to commissioning of the new board line at project site. Or a new equipment in an existed plant. Qualification Requirements: Typical Education Level: 1. Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or similar discipline 2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Project Engineering Relevant experience, knowledge and skills: 1. Ability to produce working models using AutoCAD and Inventor 2. Working knowledge of safety management system and standards. 3. Experienced with AM/PM 4. Understanding of some calcination methods, material drying and grinding 5. Powders, bulk solids handling 6. Basic thermodynamics (heat and mass balance) 7. Developing knowledge and understanding of gypsum chemistry and testing 8. Gas and burner safety standard – understanding of EN746 9. Familiar with hot air drying oven structure and working principle, experience in oven/furnace design or maintenance is preferred. 10. HVAC and dust collection pipeline design capability and relevant working experience is preferred. 11. Basic thermal calculation capability, experience in hot air drying oven/pipeline insulation and airflow field design is preferred. 12. Well English Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing 13. Site experience (Operations and/or Multiple Project start-ups), demonstrating significant contribution to continuous improvement and/or commissioning. 14. Proven track record working in a Highly automated, high speed process or mechanical handling industry 15. Ability to manage defined onsite activities e.g. elements of the design, installation, commissioning process. 16. Understands cultural differences and able to adapt behaviour to operate effectively within cross cultural teams. 17. Time spent in a plant engineering or maintenance role in a continuous process industry
