Principal Quality Specialist - QA Programs IFP is responsible for overseeing the IFP quality assurance process, establishing, maintaining, and socializing the required IFP QMS standards and procedures which make up the IFP QMS. This role also ensures effective design to commercialization life-cycle quality management activities are in place for all IFP product categories across the end-to-end supply chain so required product quality performance and regulatory compliance is achieved. The Principal Quality Specialist - QA Programs IFP will provide strategic and tactical support to Global/Segment Quality Leaders, their teams as well as cross-functional teams to help the development and deployment of global and segment quality programs, standards, and tools. This role has accountability to represent K-C in external audits of the IFP QMS and by customers, certification bodies and regulatory authorities.
Oversee Quality Management System (QMS): - Establish, maintain, and provide access to required QMS standards, procedures, processes, and forms. - Ensure QMS standards, processes, and practices meet K-C and external stakeholder requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, 13485, 22716). - Support IFP Quality Strategy Deployment through OGSIM initiative implementation. - Participate in global project teams to develop global standards. - Incorporate Enterprise Quality Management System documents and processes into the IFP Quality Management System. - Utilize systems like EtQ to maintain QMS processes and documents. Ensure Compliance and Conduct Audits: - Collaborate with customers, authorities, external auditors, or other stakeholders to demonstrate QMS effectiveness and compliance. - Achieve in-market quality performance and regulatory compliance for assigned product categories and platforms. Deploy Training and Build Capability: - Implement training processes and programs to build capability and awareness in the correct usage of QMS documents and processes. - Coach and guide cross-functional teams on quality engineering concepts and tools. - SME for Quality Tools (EtQ, GE Plant Applications, etc.) Drive Quality Performance and Mitigate Risks: - Develop and execute quality programs, initiatives, and targets to achieve product quality performance and regulatory compliance. - Identify and mitigate risks using IFP and K-C risk management tools. Support Product Development and Lifecycle Management: - Lead the development of goals, targets, and outcomes for new product development and product design changes. - Interface with R&D, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Distribution for new product introductions and changes to existing products. - Represent quality at cross-functional sector meetings and global project teams. - Maintain awareness and oversight of in-market quality and regulatory risks and issues. Promote Continuous Improvement and Problem Solving: - Adopt a right-***-time quality mindset, including robust problem-solving and continual improvement efforts. - Monitor and control product quality performance from initial design to ongoing monitoring.
QUALIFICATIONS: Basic Qualifications - A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, typically science or engineering and / or significant quality management experience. - Min 10 years of experience in a QMS, Supplier or Manufacturing Quality role or a Research & Engineering product role. - Working knowledge and experience with products requiring compliance to various regulatory or other technical requirements. - Working knowledge on establishing and maintaining an effective Quality Management System. Preferred Qualifications - A recognized quality management qualification is desirable such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer / Quality Manager / Auditor or CQI Chartered Quality Management Professional. - Internal or Lead Auditor qualification. - Experience of quality in medical device, pharmaceutical, food or similar environment. - Understanding of key regulations standards applicable to LATAM, EMEA and APAC.
