The Director of Retail Operations develop and deliver the operation strategy and plans to support the retail business, ensuring that the region delivers the commercial targets and drives profitable growth. This role is responsible for implementing relevant policies, managing all operations in the retail channel, and working closely with teams across the region and in global functions to monitor and deliver performance and provide communication, guidance, and training as needed.
Responsibilities: 61 Develop and deliver the retail operation strategy for the region and take ownership over the portfolio of stores to deliver an outstanding consumer experience in our shops which focuses on continuous innovation and improvement to the in-store experience with optimized operation efficiency. 61 Own the Annual Operation Plan for the retail channel and track/report the progress and effectiveness of change efforts, including but not limited to sales target setting, margin and profit targets setting, Store P&L, and plans to ensure overhead targets and all other KPI in line with trading plans and profit growth targets to secure delivery of the retail and region plan 61 Create, implement, and maintain retail operational policies and procedures to deliver an outstanding consumer experience and a safe and legally compliant store experience, creating efficiencies and reducing non-essential workload 61 Execute the annual trading plans, overseeing delivery of communications and training to stores, aligning with region marketing to deliver a seamless consumer experience 61 Define and deliver the regional inventory with a focus on clearing aged and slow-moving stock. Support improvements in inventory control by creating and updating training/procedures. 61 Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders internally to ensure effective engagement and support for the overall successful delivery of the strategy and externally with brand partners and landlords to maximize all opportunities. 61 Create the conditions that deliver a highly competent, energetic, engaged, and motivated workforce who are committed and aligned to delivery outcomes 61 Analyze and measure existing practices to identify improvement opportunities and establish business cases and plans for change.
Qualifications: 61 BA or equivalent degree required, MBA or equivalent desired 61 Significant experience of 10+ in leading a retail business and in-depth operations experience 61 Experience in delivering budgets and targets 61 Strong stakeholder management skills, influencing and managing complex relationships 61 Broad consumer product experience 61 Excellent understanding of consumer and product segmentation 61 Expert skills and experience managing large teams, attracting, hiring, developing, and mentoring strong and talented teams. 61 Good knowledge of the markets in the region 61 Good understanding of different business operating models – Retail, Franchise, MCR, and Wholesale 61 Good understanding and knowledge of Brands and the role of product and marketing communication 61 Comprehensive understanding of overall business operations 61 Strong Leadership skills, ability to influence, challenge, work collaboratively, and engage teams at all levels 61 Ability to problem solve and manage conflict situations 61 Good organizational skills 61 Good judgment skills
