Position Summary: As a Field Application Engineer, you are one of the key players in the European sales team to cover our global key accounts in Greater China. Furthermore you are part of a worldwide technical community providing premium pre and post sales technical support to ams-Osram automotive and industrial customers and their projects.
Key Responsibility: 61 100% Accountable to drive design wins in their target accounts 61 Leads proof of concept, solution design and demonstrations to secure the design win for ams-Osram 61 Synthesizes customer and competitive insights to improve product definition and roadmaps 61 Manages the ams-Osram design in campaigns for assigned customers to ensure early involvement in the customer’s technology roadmap and continuous and timely flow of information to all necessary parties within the BL and customer 61 Fully understands how ecosystem solutions can position ams-Osram in the best possible manner 61 Qualifies sales opportunities in terms of customer technical requirements and establishes ams-Osram value proposition/position relative to the competition 61 Qualifies the value of ams-Osram products (strengths versus competitive products) and quantifies the technical benefits derived from choosing ams-Osram 61 Owns the block diagram process to ensure broader technical team understands the full system requirements 61 Delivers ongoing formal and informal knowledge sharing and product positioning that helps assigned accounts understand the operational, financial, and business impact of ams-Osram solutions within their practice areas 61 Successfully builds relationships with sales team members, business lines, partners and customers in support of sales team objectives 61 Analyzes customer's technical objectives through the use of relevant data gathering techniques enabling the sales team to be more predictive, effective and responsive to customer needs 61 Assists in educating Field Sales Engineers on new technologies, new product features and their related business value
Qualification: 61 Manage projects on both detailed technical and high level abstraction levels 61 Flexible; adapts to plans easily when circumstances change 61 Comfortable working in a target driven environment/working with revenue targets, raising the bar to meet targets and enhance the company’s market share 61 High level of integrity, credibility, tenacity and commitment to excellence 61 Communicative and team-oriented personality with an independent, structured and goal-oriented way of working and the ability to present and communicate technical issues well 61 Bachelor/Master Degree Master’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering or comparable natural or applied science course 61 Several years of Field Application Engineering experience in the semiconductor industry, automotive experience optical semiconductor experience is a plus 61 Experience with analog or mixed signal circuit designs and/or experience with opto-electronic components and design 61 Familiar with working on customer sites and Willing to travel frequently 61 Proven track record of RFPs / RFIs / RFQs / proposals worked on and won 61 Fluent in English
