1. Main Objectives To be responsible for supplying product design in accordance with Lone Star Automotive quality assurance process and customer expectations within given mandate, according to agreed time schedule and specification. 2. Area of Responsibility The design engineer is responsible for design with reference to mandate given by the superior and/or appointed Lead Engineer. 61 Effectively to interpret customer demands and technical regulations or specifications. From applicable regulations and specifications to define and establish the Lone Star Automotive specification of the product in corporation with the product team. 61 To support hardware develop and design the product or part from the *** idea through the design process and the validation phase until design freeze is obtained with customer. 61 To work in accordance with the defined design process and to observe given legislation, directives and concessions which may affect the given area of design. 61 Responsible for the development and establishment of product circuit diagrams, CAD drawings, and continuous optimization of the design during the development process to ensure that the product meets all relevant specifications and is assembled under normal mass production conditions. 61 In co-operation with test and validation department, and rest of design team, to ensure that test specifications and methods are correct and correspond to customer's expectations. 61 Fulfill design based on basic knowledge of quality policy and quality manual. 61 Develop and complete product design scheme and detailed specification, prepare technical documents related to technology. 61 Cooperate with the work of the product trial production stage and solve the problems encountered in the product, provide technical support to achieve the design goal. 61 Get involved in all kinds of HSE activities, attend fire emergency evacuation, Attend Safety\Health\Environment Training. 3. Personal Tasks 61 To be the customer hardware technical voice in the design team. 61 To conduct regular hardware design reviews with customer on behalf of the design Lead engineer. 61 Support communication with customer with reference to technical documentation. 61 To ensure familiar with PCB design software such as AD/CANDENCE and DFX design concept. 61 To participate in internal and external meetings in terms of benchmarking activities, design reviews, DFA, risk analysis, FMEA, etc. 61 To support superior and Lead Engineer with technical documentation at and with customer. 61 To initiate cost-saving activities based on internal and external information to contribute towards increasing the competitiveness within the business area. 4. Main Challenges The most important challenges of the design engineer are the following ones. 61 In cooperation with design team and customers to develop products that take product technology to meet future needs and requirements of customers. 61 To be a source of inspiration and support in the design team. To develop and improve design methods to work in a more efficient manner and to reduce time and cost. 61 Continuously to seek information about new technical innovations, safety regulations and technical trends within the automotive industry. To report in accordance with normal reporting routines but also to report events and situations for which no reporting routines exist. 61 To initiate any corrective actions and make priorities together with superior to meet deadlines of design phases. 5. Competence profile (ideal) 61 Education At university level Bachelor or higher of engineering or corresponding education/experience 61 Experience and skills 1, More than 5 years design experience where of more than three years' experience of automotive hardware design. 2, Familiar with EMC test specifications and have the ability to analyze and solve problems. 3, Have a certain theoretical foundation of digital circuit and analog circuit design, have a certain understanding of the principle, performance and key parameters of hardware components and have rich experience in device selection. 4, Well-documented experience of PCB design. 5, High degree of personal integrity and confidence. 6, Ability to make quick decisions based on experience and analysis as well as advice from other people. 7, Ability to get on with other people. 7. Authority To act independently within the compass of the current rules and guidelines of Lone Star in order to reach the objectives of the business area and to meet the area of responsibility.
