Responsibilities: 1. Sourcing a. Review and optimize the existing supplier portfolio based on customer / assortment needs b. Execute the sourcing strategy and overlook the entire Asian supplier base c. Supplier Risk Management d. Drive the strategy for sourcing and manufacturing OBI’s private label products e. Prepare and conduct annual supplier reviews
2. Supplier Relationship Management a. Foster and maintain strong relationships with our suppliers b. Facilitate the exchange between Category Management and suppliers c. Overlook the supplier portfolio, monitor the performance actively manage the portfolio d. Challenge suppliers on optimizing the cost, quality and lead-time e. Prepare capacity and volume forecasts and negotiate cost
3. End to End Stakeholder Management a. Contribute on assortment development concepts b. Build and maintain good relationship with Category Management and understand their needs and offer customized solutions. c. Product assortment: Determine & analyze the variety and quantity of products within the category to meet customer demand and provide proposals for Category Management. d. Optimize the end to end supply chain process within the respective areas e. Secure the supplier network in Asia and define adjustment needs f. Develop solutions to optimize cost, quality and lead-times g. Observe market and country developments h. Pro-actively suggest optimization potentials
4. Team development a. Manage and coach team subordinates: Responsible for department management, such as communication, evaluation, coaching b. Ensure company strategy is shared and understood, c. Encourage continuous learning and coaching of product knowledge, market practice, quality standards etc. d. Focus on our staff’s career development with a path e. Set up an analytical and result oriented work atmosphere f. Foster a good team atmosphere and a healthy team spirit g. Lead by example
Requirements: - Ability to think end to end - Analytical competence and result oriented - Strong level of customer orientation - Curiosity for research on trends and developments in the category - Pro-active out of the box thinking - Openness towards change and transformation - Solid communication skills and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently - Strong negotiation, presentation and problem solving skill - Good time management and project management skills - Strong leadership and team management - At least 2 years of experience in trading / sourcing / merchandising on managerial level - Profound knowledge of exporting DIY products, according to European standards - Bachelor degree or above - Strong command of English, other languages of advantage - Good at MS office and ERP skills
