Role overview: The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for ensuring the operational continuity of Artemyn's sites in China, including the Yueyang plant and the Shanghai office for now. The role will play a crucial part in managing the purchasing of key materials and supporting the company's growth in the region. Key Stakeholders: Internal: Plants, Finance and Sales teams in China and ***; Global Purchasing and Supply Chain department, Brazil Logistic department. External: Raw material vendors, possibleImport brokers, warehouses, transportation companies, shipping companies, Customs and CIQ. Responsibilities and Duties: Playing an active role in continuous improvement of processes and strategy: Be the single point of contact to the plant managers of the designated sites (scope will be 1 PPM for several plants). Gather the local purchasing requirements: anticipate, collect and optimize the sites' requirements in terms of quantity and specifications. Ensure internal customer satisfaction with the performance of the purchasing team. Entry point for all purchase requests. Supplier quality management. Close collaboration with supply chain / purchasing. Responsible for the deployment of China category management policy: Develop and implement purchasing strategies tailored to the China region, covering applicable categories including indirect purchasing, transportation, energy, chemicals, packaging, raw materials, mining, and capital expenditures. Take charge of screening and evaluating suppliers, organizing and coordinating trials at relevant plants to ensure the strict implementation of purchasing strategies and policies at the site level. Collaborate closely with the sales and business development teams, thoroughly align with business requirements, and work in tandem with various plant departments to ensure the successful implementation of purchasing strategies and policies within the plant. In light of the actual circumstances, spearhead the launch of new purchasing initiatives at the cross - cluster or national levels, thus facilitating the continuous optimization of the purchasing process. Responsible for local purchase: Responsible for the purchase contracts for local opex / capex. Support deployment of larger Capex on his / her sites. Frequent local presence in the different sites of his perimeter. Sourcing new suppliers and negotiating contracts. Propose and manage local purchase synergies. Monitoring suppliers' performance, KPIs. Reporting and analysis, collect and report the sites' financial performance including tracking of target savings. Qualifications & Experience: Good understanding of the local language (Mandarin). Good English level. Bachelor's degree and above in chemical, supply chain or related major. Purchasing background, minimum of 5 years experience in industrial, capex and opex purchasing. Skills & Person Specification: Leadership, problem - solving, interpersonal, communications, planning, team participation skills. Highly motivated and proactive driver of change. Strong negotiation and communication skills - both internally and externally. Ability to have a global view and link business needs to purchasing strategy. Proficient in MS Office software or Google Set, experience in bespoke Artemyn systems (e.g. IFS, 7 Steps) an advantage. Ability to quickly understand high - level technical elements of industrial purchase. Understanding and actively promoting the purchasing cycle. Have the ability to support and champion the development and introduction of effective purchasing methods and tools. Knowledge of planning, logistics and warehouse management, especially planning. Typical profile: Purchasing Manager with experience in industrial purchasing and a strong understanding of the Chinese market.
