As the Technical Director, you will be at the forefront of driving technical excellence across raw material management, sales support, laboratory management, perfumer management, and external coordination. Reporting Line: Managing Director
Key Responsibilities Raw Material Coordination Pricing Discussion: Negotiate with suppliers for favorable raw material pricing, analyzing market trends to balance cost - effectiveness and quality. New Raw Material: Research, identify, and test new raw materials. Evaluate their aroma, stability, and compatibility to enhance product offerings. Legislation: Ensure all raw materials comply with local, national, and international regulations. Update processes as regulations change. 61 PROFOR Management: Oversee the PROFOR system for accurate raw - material data, optimizing procurement and inventory.
Sales Support Trouble Shooting: Resolve product - related issues for customers. Work with cross - functional teams to find root causes and implement solutions. Internal & External Training: Provide technical training to sales teams and customers. Enhance product knowledge for better sales and customer service. Client Visit / Questions: Conduct client visits, gather feedback, and answer technical queries to build strong customer relationships.
Lab Management Robot Issues: Ensure smooth operation of laboratory robots. Troubleshoot and maintain equipment for accurate and high - throughput results. Lab & Packing Improvement: Optimize laboratory workflows and packing processes. Reduce inefficiencies and enhance product protection. QC Issues: Set and enforce quality control standards. Investigate and resolve non - compliance issues promptly. Missing Raw Materials: Coordinate with procurement to address raw - material shortages. Find alternatives to minimize project disruptions.
Perfumer Management Leaves: Manage perfumer leave schedules. Ensure project continuity during Office Issues: Resolve office - related problems for perfumers. Create a productive work environment. Navision: Support perfumers in using Navision for inventory and project management. Provide training and resolve system issues. Annual Reviews: Evaluate perfumer performance. Provide feedback, set goals, and discuss career development.
Perfumer Projects Creation / Rework: Guide perfumers in concept creation. Oversee rework based on feedback or technical issues. Evaluation: Evaluate project progress through sensory and technical analysis. Ensure projects meet goals. GC Duplication: Ensure accurate fragrance duplication using gas chromatography. Maintain equipment and validate processes.
External Coordination BSL: Coordinate with BSL. Share technical information, collaborate on projects, and meet requirements. ASIA Affiliates: Collaborate with ASIA affiliates on product development. Adapt products to local markets. GPMS Updates: Update the Global Product Management System with accurate technical data. Ensure seamless internal communication.
Qualifications: Education: Master’s degree in chemical engineering, fragrance technology and related major. Experience: More than 15 years working experience in extensive fragrance - industry. With a proven technical - leadership track record. Substantial project - management experience, having led complex projects to successful completion. Skills: Profound knowledge of raw materials, fragrance creation, and quality control. Exceptional logical - thinking ability to analyze problems, develop solutions, and streamline project processes. Traits: motivated and proactive attitude who could actively seek solutions, show initiative, and drive continuous process improvements.
