Key Responsibility Areas Support product development process:
● Work in close cooperation with designers, developer and pattern makers during all steps of the sourcing of product samples and prototypes. ● Responsible for developing samples with suppliers for proto/selling/counter based on style setup, as well as monitor that the samples are sent to the developer in time for fittings and meetings. ● Based on style setup, give input to the developer on how the style could be constructed in order to get the best possible product and price ● Check and comment all samples (proto/counter/production) including input comments into the business system, to secure that style setup and possible changes have been followed. This includes: ● Check allover appearance. ● Compare style details with setup. ● Comment on making and styling ● Style follow-up with supplier. This includes going through the buyer’s comments on samples with the supplier as well as explaining any changes and come to an understanding with the supplier on how to make the style. ● Follow up the photo sample status Quality Assurance: Responsible for quality assurance of the products to make sure that the style meets brand’s standards and quality level requirement. This includes:
● Review & communicate the workmanship comments of development samples to buyer & factory ● Approval of production sample before production starts. ● Approval of QC-file including all trims and bulk fabrics before production starts. ● Follow up previous quality problems on similar products. ● Actively participate in quality meetings for running risk assessment of collection styles ● Wash and test samples in-house in accordance with brand’s Quality Assurance Manual & Policy. ● Negotiate with the supplier in any claims relating to quality Order Schedule Planning & MOQ Tracking
● Confirm delivery dates with suppliers that best fit relevant parties’ requirement/expectation ● Responsible for collecting the production info such as lead time, production minimums, as well as to channel relevant info to relevant parties (e.g. fabric lead time & MOQ with Material team). ● Calculate & plan the order schedule according to required delivery capsule from HQ. Prepare & alert for the early buy schedule if need ● Negotiate the order quantities with suppliers that best fit company interest (to avoid upcharges and leftover fabrics) ● Update relevant biz system &/or counterpart for the collection styles details, such as supplier, ship mode, prices, MOQ, Early Buy dates, etc. Prepare and submit regular and ad hoc reports as per manager requirement Any other reasonable work assigned by Manager or above
Key Competencies
● At least 8 years working experience in the apparel and relevant experience ● Diploma/Degree from relevant study, e.g., textile studies ● Strong product knowledge about production within Knit & Woven apparel ● Strong communication and negotiation skill (especially dealing with buyers & vendors) ● Good personal skill, and team player ● Good at details ● Pricing & Negotiation skill ● Well organized and able to work Multi-task ● Fluent in spoken and written English; Good Mandarin ● Proficient computer skill in MS office (World, Excel, Power Point) and Outlook ● Occasional Travel is required
