What you'll do:
As a Fabric Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the fashion-forward image of our client's brand. Your passion for product development will drive your research into fabrics that align with current trends, mood boards, and inspiration from the product and buying team. You will have your finger on the pulse of the market, identifying opportunities and innovations that can be presented to the brand regularly. Your keen eye for detail will guide your selection of fabric qualities that meet both price range demands and production timelines. You will also be responsible for negotiating fabric quantities for models going into production, ensuring alignment with costs while liaising with fabric manufacturers on price and lead times.
* Research and develop fabrics quickly in line with trends, mood boards, and inspiration pictures. * Maintain a thorough understanding of fabric manufacturers and market trends. * Regularly present opportunities and innovations to the brand. * Select appropriate fabric qualities within demanded price range and production time. * Present selected fabric qualities to designer and buying teams. * Determine sample yardage quantity, ensure supply aligns with lead time and quality targets, and oversee process. * Handle labdip, strike off, handlooms demands. * Negotiate fabric quantities for models going into production, ensuring alignment with cost, and liaise with fabric manufacturers on price and lead time. * Monitor trends and competitors closely, presenting opportunities to designers and buying teams. * Determine raw fabric needs for NOS orders and CORE qualities with product and buying teams.
What you bring:
As a Fabric Buyer, you bring a wealth of experience in similar roles along with a deep love for fashion. Your high self-expression skills enable you to understand brand needs very well. You are speed-oriented, confident, and have a knack for negotiating. Your advanced English language skills will be crucial in this role. While no specific university background is required, graduation from university is a must.
