Purpose of the Role The role holder will be required to be the lead representative for the Primark supply chain based on the ground within your defined regional area Duties & Responsibilities 61 The role holder will be required to be the lead representative for Primark supply chain based on the ground within your defined regional area in terms of Franchise business. 61 The role will focus on managing all the Supply Chain origin based activities for Primark, aligned to our overall Supply Chain & Sourcing strategy; based in our main origin country within origin countries; & also controlling our origin activities in countries. 61 For Primark; this is a key sourcing region for ‘keyline’ continuity lines (large order quantities of everyday basics), our expanding product range (including homewares) & our exciting licensed merchandise range (such as Disney) 61 You will be responsible for executing on the ground the supply chain operating principles set by the Supply Chain Manager – Origin, & achieving our agreed SLAs & KPIs 61 Support Primark’s wider business strategy in its execution at ground level in your region (localising where appropriate) 61 As the lead of your region for Supply Chain, you will report back to the business key developments/events which may affect production or logistics activities before/as they are unfolding – providing detailed assessment on direct impact to Primark as well as best mitigation strategy if available 61 Control shipping efficiency, through effective control of SOPs which will reduce our environmental footprint & freight costs by optimising the number of units shipped per container 61 This will involve working with all our suppliers in this region & driving them to achieving the highest level of supply chain performance. These will be production suppliers & logistics suppliers. 61 Face back into the Primark business through our Business Partnering team & tactically put in place execution plans for our significant & growing volumes which has the potential to add additional cost/complexity to the business 61 Manage the performance of all 4PL & 3PL operations in your controlled region (including Primark controlled CFS operations in the region) through: o Uncompromising focus on safety & leading culture changes to ensure Safety is the *** priority in all operations o Setting & managing their KPI’s o Conducting detailed periodic reviews o Managing capacity planning across all origins 61 Be a Champion of the Primark Cares initiative to reduce our impact on our Planet wherever we can, chiefly by optimising the way our products are moved from source hubs to our sales markets 61 Identifying areas of improvement which are highlighted in periodic KPI reviews – you will produce meaningful analysis to correct processes or operations of Suppliers, Freight Managers, 3PLs or Primark itself 61 Build Primark’s in depth understanding of all origin activity costs relevant to your region e.g. CFS charges & where appropriate negotiate on behalf of the Inbound team with any locally based operators. 61 Manage multiple 3PL Freight operators across multiple modes of transport (sea, road, rail, & air operations), building excellent working relationships with all such suppliers at origin. 61 By working with the Primark QC teams you will build processes to ensure all pre-shipment inspections meet our Supply Chain requirements e.g. carton quality & labelling. 61 Implement at origin the depot compliance programme to ensure all activities are captured 61 You will be the point of escalation for suppliers on local issues & queries, with an emphasis on matters being resolved real-time & with the end customer in mind. 61 You will be the point of escalation from Primark nominate Freight Manager if any operation deviations from agreed SOP for Franchise business. 61 Expected to offer & implement new continuous improvement initiatives that improvement the overall performance of our supply chain & achieve our business objectives 61 You will ensure all hazardous/licenced/foodstuff cargo is declared & managed correctly from origin through to delivery. 61 Contribute as required to the Supply Chain handbook that will be updated on a regular basis with local origins regulation/policies, to ensure consistency & transparency. 61 Review & update as required all relevant regional SOPs for our suppliers & 3Pls to adhere to Skills & Experience The ideal individual will be 61 Educated to degree level with 5+ years of experience in a similar or equivalent role 61 Experience working in a retail or FMCG focused regional sourcing office environment highly desirable 61 Advanced Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel & Powerpoint) 61 Excellent organisational, prioritisation & time management skills 61 Ability to review & design new process that will deliver beneficial change 61 Cultural awareness & sensitivity 61 Excellent problem solving, tactical thinking & planning skills 61 Relationship builder both internally & externally with strong influencing skills 61 Experience of working in a fast paced supply chain environment 61 Strong administrative skills 61 Effective communicator - 2nd language skills a benefit Desirable 61 Strong operational experience within a Global freight/sourcing operating environment with a minimum five years’ experience at Lead/Management level 61 Excellent & up to date knowledge of global shipping networks & lead-times 61 Excellent knowledge of international transportation processes eg: shipping line booking process, airfreight pricing models & all associated documentation 61 Experience in franchise business, familiar with franchise models and related laws and regulations. 61 Proven & demonstrable track record in improving performance within operations that you have managed 61 Excellent planning skills & be able to think months ahead of time, while executing the present 61 Experience of large multi-site / network operations 61 Good knowledge & awareness of Health & Safety requirements in a transport & warehouse environment. 61 Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint (MS Access advantageous) 61 Excellent communication skills both written & verbal 61 Interpersonal skills -
