This role works on the projects from conceptualization to industrialization phases, determines technical requirements, works on solutions to meet the needs. The final designs are validated through design reviews with technical experts and project team (Product manager/R&D Manager/Purchasing Manager, etc.). Work to satisfy needs of the services and ensure the success of the new product.
As a Senior New Product Development Engineer - Pressure Safety Valves, you will be responsible for:
· Clarifying project input and ensuring everyone is well aligned with the need and product to be developed. Defining design rules/improve process.
· Organizing the technical activities on the project and validating the schedules in accordance with the specifications.
· Writing the Product Technical Specification (PTS) that translates the customer's need into technical requirements.
· Providing technical leadership and guidance for design reviews, valve design improvements, RCAs and industrial committees as necessary.
· Performing product design/Models. Performing associated calculation notes/CFDs/FEA’s to validate the design. Working with testing laboratory to set up prototype tests.
· Identifying and driving cost reduction activities with Engineering, Configuration Management, Sourcing and Manufacturing.
· Coordinating technical meetings with other departments (sourcing, manufacturing, Manufacturing engineering) to take into account the needs of these functions.
· Implementing design review sessions over the life of the project. Conducting risk analysis/Failure Modes and Effects Analysis. Incorporating DF(X) into designing.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
· Have a Bachelors above in Mechanical from an accredited school.
· Have a minimum 10 years experience in Core Design Engineering and solid experience in Pressure Safety Valves industry.
· Have good knowledge in Fluid dynamics and Mechanical design concepts. Excellent knowledge of PSV related codes (ASME, API, EN, etc.).
· Have deep material knowledge (typically used in O&G, Refinery & Power sectors), ASTM material grades & testing.
· Be able to lead a team and work cross-functionally/collaboratively.
· Have great analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills both in English and Chinese.
· Be familiar with usage of FEA/CFD, Solid Works/ANSYS. Prior experience in New Product Design would be an advantage.
