Summary
The Service Product Owner is a pivotal role responsible for driving the strategic vision, development, and continuous improvement of aftersales service related products. This individual acts as the primary liaison between the business team, implementation team, customers, and other stakeholders, ensuring the products meet cross function requirements, business objectives, and market demands.
The main responsibility of this role is to create structure, raise risks and enable the project team to a successful implementation, ensure the project delivery in time and within budget during the product lifecycle.
Further, the role will be responsible for facilitating the process across multiple sub-projects within the broader IT initiative. They will guide and support development teams in adopting Scrum principles, ensuring they follow Agile best practices, and fostering a collaborative, self-organizing team environment. This role will help remove obstacles that hinder team progress, facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews, and ensure that teams remain focused on delivering high-quality, incremental value.
Additionally, the role will monitor team progress, track sprint metrics, and report on performance to help drive continuous improvement. They will also promote a culture of accountability and encourage teams to reflect on their processes and improve their efficiency. Throughout the project, the role will ensure alignment between sub-projects, facilitating cross-team cooperation and ensuring that dependencies between teams are managed effectively.

Responsibilities & Competencies
61 Product Vision and Strategy: Define and articulate a clear, long-term vision for the service products, aligning it with the overall business goals. This includes understanding market trends, competitor offerings, and customer pain points to position the products. Develop a product strategy that outlines the features, functionality, and roadmap over time. Set short-term and long-term goals for the products.
61 Business need management: Collaborate with business, IT partners and customer needs along the value chain to identify, assess and refine business and technology needs on service products. Break down and translate needs to actionable improvements to the products. Analysis of “as is” and “to be”, describe the change impact and communicate with different stakeholders.
61 Requirement Gathering and Prioritization: Collaborate closely with service teams as well as other relevant departments to gather detailed requirements for the products. Use various techniques like user interviews, surveys, and usability testing to understand user needs and preferences. Prioritize product backlog items based on customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility. Ensure that the most important features are developed ***, maximizing the product’s value proposition for customers and the return on investment for the company.
61 Stakeholder, product and vendor management: Continuously manage and improve the business value, product and costs of product and contracts. Communicate and align plans with internal and external stakeholders.
61 Development Collaboration: Work hand in hand with the development team throughout the software development lifecycle. Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-up, and sprint reviews to provide guidance, clarify requirements, and answer questions. Provide detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for each backlog item to help developers understand what needs to be built. Ensure that the development team has a clear understanding of the product's design, functionality, and user experience goals.
61 User Experience (UX) and Design: Advocate for an exceptional user experience within the products. Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure that the product's interface is intuitive and easy to use. Review wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to ensure they align with the product vision and user requirements. Provide feedback on design iterations to enhance the overall user journey.
61 Testing and Quality Assurance:Work with the quality assurance (QA) team to define test plans and ensure that the products are thoroughly tested for functionality, usability, performance, and security. Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to verify that the products meet the requirements and expectations of end users. Coordinate with the development team to address any bugs or issues identified during testing.
61 Launch and Post-Launch Management: Plan and execute the products launch, coordinating with marketing, sales, service and other teams to ensure a successful roll out. Prepare launch materials, such as release notes and user guides. Monitor the products performance and user feedback after launch. Analyze key metrics like user engagement, retention, and ratings to identify areas for improvement. Use this data to drive the next iteration of the features and functionality.
61 Stakeholder Communication: Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including senior management, product teams, and external partners, about the product’s progress, status, and upcoming features. Present product updates, demos, and roadmaps in a clear and understandable way to different audiences. Gather feedback from stakeholders and incorporate it into the product development process.
Have closed cooperation with relevant system stakeholders and Product Owners at Scania central as well as external providers/suppliers when applicable.
Main Requirements

Education and/or Experience
61 A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business or a related field.
61 At least 5 years of experience in product management, with a focus on vehicle aftersales domain.
61 Proven track record of successfully launching and managing an product from concept to market.
61 Solid understanding of software development processes, including Agile methodologies.
61 Team management skills for internal and external teams.
61 Fluency in English, both verbal and written is required.
61 Knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
61 Technical knowledge: Solid understanding of software development processes, including Agile methodologies. Knowledge of analytics tools to measure products performance and user behavior.
61 Analytical Thinking: Analysing and synthesizing information to understand issues, identify options, and support sound decision making. Ability to understand and analyze business processes and requirements. Strong analytical skills to interpret data and use it to drive product decisions.
61 Problem solving: Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and make quick, informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
61 Attention to Detail: Working in a conscientious, consistent and thorough manner.
61 Communication: Listening and communicating openly, honestly and respectfully with different audiences, promoting dialogue and building consensus. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
