Role & Responsibilities: Position Definition (Key Purpose of the Position) : The Assistant Manager of Sports Marketing for The North Face APAC is responsible for managing athletes and professional talents across Trail, Climb, and Snow disciplines. This role involves supporting athletes’ expedition and race projects, while amplifying their stories and achievements to strengthen brand authenticity. A key focus will be leveraging major sports moments to plan and execute events that deliver immersive consumer experiences in outdoor sports. The candidate must have a proven track record of building authentic brand equity through athlete partnerships and community engagement. This position requires close collaboration with third-party vendors, athletes, core communities, and The North Face APAC marketing team to execute integrated event projects and seeding initiatives that enhance brand equity.
Key Result Areas: - Develop relationships with athletes and professional talents across Trail and Climb sports disciplines. - Develop and execute sports marketing strategies- including events, community engagement, and athlete - activations- to drive demand, enhance brand awareness, and boost attention across all consumer touchpoints. - Elevate brand events from planning to execution, ensuring alignment with the brand’s core purpose.
Competency Requirements : Behavioral Competencies - - Deep understanding on marketing, especially integrated marketing communications. - Understanding of outdoor and modern outdoor. - Good presenting skills in bilingual (English & Chinese) - Excellent communication in working with cross function/ 3rd parties. - A self-motivated, detail-oriented team player. - Optimistic and dare to take calculated risks. - Able to work under pressure with multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines. - Demonstrate proven project management skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines and providing insightful strategies for transforming ideas into actual events.
Functional Competencies – - Passionate and deep understanding about the outdoor and athletic industries, especially Trail run Mountaineering or Climb. - A member of the community of Trail Run / Mountaineering. - Have a keen marketing sense to identify exemplary event cases in the industry and distinguish the unique aspects of our brand. - Exhibit an analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities. - Have regional knowledge and be a self-motivated learner eager to stay updated on the athletic industries.
Experience - Minimum Relevant Experience: Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in marketing role, had experience on event projects. - Minimum Supervisory Experience: At least 3-5+ years of experience Nature of Work: - 50% Athlete & pro talent management - 50% Events Execution
