Country Business Manager - China -Textile Manufacturing SaaS Platform
We are an exciting new international marketplace platform, designed for the textile industry. We connect textile machinery manufacturers with textile production companies in order to showcase the most sustainably innovative textile machinery available today. We are in the process of launching in several markets, including Turkey, Bangladesh, India, China, Vietnam, Malaysia, and then beyond.
Our company is founded by international entrepreneurs, all of whom have significant experience and expertise in manufacturing, gained at senior C-Suite and Board level. We have global investment partnerships set up with in-country banks, and our revenue is generated through textile machinery manufacturers, on both a subscription basis and single transactions.
Our aim is to make the latest and most sustainable manufacturing technology accessible globally to all sizes of textile manufacturers. Our platform is rapidly gaining traction with both textile and machinery manufacturers, and to help fuel our growth and manage potential clients and customers, we are now looking for an experienced Business Development Director in China.
The Role:
We are looking for a commercially-focussed Engineer who wishes to be part of a new and exciting startup. You’ll have significant experience in textile machinery ((spinning, knitting, weaving, finishing, printing, recycling, etc) and their applications and you’ll understand how machines improve efficiency and quality. You may now have a more senior role than a hands-on Engineer, ie you may now work in Sales and Marketing or similar, or you may want to be part of something new and growing in a more commercially focussed position.
You may work for an agent of international textile machinery manufacturers or international distributors of textile machinery.
It is absolutely essential that you are fluent in English, both written and spoken and a relevant textile engineering or mechanical engineering qualification.
You will play a key role in driving business growth and building the company’s presence in their country’s textile market. The successful candidate will lead in-country business operations and deliver value-added solutions tailored to client needs, using their technical and commercial expertise.
Key responsibilities will include building strong client relationships with factories, workshops, and machinery distributors, identifying business opportunities through market analysis, and driving sales from strategy to execution. The deals / opportunities will be generated through the
platform, and the successful candidate will evaluate and develop these prospects, nurturing, advising and supporting the stakeholders involved, specifically the textile manufacturers as they choose the right machinery for their businesses.
It goes without saying that you’ll relish the thought of being part of the growth of a tech startup, being able to make an impact quickly, and working with both textile and machinery manufacturers.
About You
You will have the following:
Technical Knowledge
●Machinery Expertise: Deep understanding of textile machinery (weaving, spinning, finishing, printing, etc.) and their applications.
●Production Processes: Knowledge of textile production stages and how machines improve efficiency and quality.
●Technological Innovation: Awareness of trends like automation, sustainability, and digitization in textile machinery.
Commercial Skills
●Sales Management: Experience in negotiation, closing deals, and client follow-up.
●Relationship Building: Ability to establish strong relationships with clients (factories, workshops, distributors).
●Market Analysis: Identifying business opportunities and developing market strategies.
Market Knowledge
●Textile Industry: Familiarity with key players, trends, and challenges in local textile markets.
●Customer Needs: Understanding clients03 pain points and offering tailored solutions.
Education
●Background in textile, mechanical, or industrial engineering, or equivalent experience.
Other
●Languages: Excellent proficiency in English.
●Travel Availability: Willingness to visit clients and attend industry events.
