Project Background and Overview
The main task for my department is to do the function validation (Emission, Drivability) to fulfill the internal requirements and support the emission and energy consumption related type approval, COP and IUC tests.
Emission and energy consumption test is mandatory for vehicle Type approval, COP and IUC process, which is essential for vehicle launching and production plan.
Emission validation topic also is an essential progress during ICE project developing phase, its purpose is to ensure the emission related SW and calibration can fulfill the requirements and CN GB standard, then the SW can be released successfully to the system.
Drivetrain validation on vehicle level including drivability, transmission, acoustic tests and all these tasks need to fulfill the company and China specific requirements on powertrain system.
Due to the validation tests may happened in different authority test centers and proving grounds, so the business trips are needed probably.
Emission/Homologation testing
Working content Basic communication work:
Participate the regular exchange meeting with relevant departments for status updating and information exchange
Sufficient communication within the team to update the latest project status
Testing resource booking via VMC
Testing status monitoring
Vehicle Preparation:
Check the vehicle from both HW and SW to ensure the vehicle has correct condition for the test
Exchange with corresponding teams for vehicle preparation
Updating the SW of powertrain system according to the requirements (i.e. IC engine, gearbox. Etc.)
Align the test schedule with test center within the test scope/plan
Troubleshooting support if needed
Test Handling:
Type approval tests:
Ensure the test is prepared correctly according to requirements of BMW/BBA and GB standard
Measurements recording with specified devices (i.e. INCA, data logger. Etc.)
Ensure the test process follows the requirements of BBA/BMW and GB standard
Results analysis from expert perspective
Troubleshooting support if needed

Test conducting & Validation Support:
-Standard test conduction according to test case instruction (Drivability, Shifting Quality of Transmission and acoustic)
-Acoustic testbench validation test
-Pre-Analyzing of Test results and documentation according to the test-case instruction
-Support Root-Cause analyzing and Trouble shooting
-Participating on testing trips (summer, altitude and Winter test. Etc.) within Mainland China
